Didn't realize this was going to be so tall. Feels like it's been under construction for about 2 years now. Would be a pipe dream, but it would be cool if the top floor of the parking garage could be converted to an ammenities deck / night club.

I don't know why (other than the fire) that the construction of the garage was so late in coming. For something advertised on their website as a hotel amenity, the garage/pool should have been completed when the Hampton opened, instead of making the Hampton and AC/Residence guests wait so long.

Fire and a fight over the insurance was probably the culprit for the wait time. Sometimes it depends on who is to blame for the fire whose insurance pays out and here there was probably a fight between insurance companies.

The hotel building has joined in the LED lighting party downtown. Just noticed Tuesday night that the trim is decked out in blue LEDs. It doesn't quite go to the top of the building. I didn't get a look at the west and south sides, just the sides facing Commerce and Prather. There is a double-horizontal-stripe about 2/3 of the way up the Commerce side besides the near-top and corner LEDs; I'm not sure if that is the point that divides the 2 hotels or not.
(Its sister hotel, the Hampton Inn & Suites, didn't get the same treatment, it's still using the single-bulb accent lighting along its near-top and near-bottom.)

AC Hotel has had LED lights for awhile now. My apartment faces it directly. Usually they're purple, but they always seem to be malfunctioning. Either they aren't fully illuminated around the whole building, or they're just off. When it's fully working, it's pretty nice.

Well, I guess I've missed them before. They were working last night and tonight for sure.Matt777 wrote:AC Hotel has had LED lights for awhile now. My apartment faces it directly.
