Still a functioning parking lot as I look at it out the window right now.
That's odd. That Towers.net story was published the same day the Dallas Morning News told us that work would start in July with completion by March 2019...

Artspace is non-profit organization that uses the tools of real estate development to create affordable, appropriate places where artists can live and work. We consistently develop these projects in ways that also support more stable, healthy communities anchored in existing assets. Because Artspace owns each of the projects it develops, we are able to ensure that they remain affordable and accessible to artists in perpetuity.
cowboyeagle05 wrote:Probably what you are seeing is the base which is where the artist lofts are located. The tower portion is the only way the project can really financially work. The developer can not afford to just build a few affordable artist lofts on a pricey site in the Arts District so yes the tower is very much moving ahead. The city approved of the entity hand over a few weeks ago that was required to clean up the financing and the introduction of ArtsSpace in the project.

There are bulldozers out there right now clearing the site on the Pearl street side. The parking lot has not been touched yet as far as I can tell from up here.
Tucy wrote:Cool! But how are they clearing the site without touching the parking lot? Isn't the whole site parking lot?
It's that weird strip right by the Olive exit ramp that wraps around Museum Tower. It looks like the work goes the length of the Pearl Side of the lot, but it's hard to tell for sure from my vantage point at Renaissance Tower. I'll try to get a closer look.

Did they say what year? (Just asking, because last year at this time we were told construction would start in July.)
