Well, I guess they'll be breaking ground sometime in the next few months.

They said they hoped to in a month in the project announcement, so hopefully sometime in November.

Bank of America’s new 30-story office will be the tallest in Uptown Dallas

https://www.dallasnews.com/business/rea ... wn-dallas/
Construction has started on what will be the tallest office building in Dallas’ Uptown district.

The 30-story high-rise called Parkside Uptown is being built overlooking Klyde Warren Park and will house Bank of America’s Dallas offices when it opens in 2027.

“This will give us the opportunity to take many of our teammates under one roof, which will better serve our clients,” Chandler said. “Just look at where we are — the walkability, the culture, the excitement of Klyde Warren Park is right outside our doorstep.”

Bank of America occupies about a half million square feet of offices in the Bank of America Plaza — Dallas’ tallest skyscraper at 901 Main St.

The new tower is the second major office to break ground in the last month in the area just north of downtown. Goldman Sachs is building an almost $500 million Uptown office campus on Field Street just north of Woodall Rodgers.

Now that they break ground knowing that they are roughly 50% anchored right out of the gate, it would sure be lucrative if they would add a penthouse of several smaller boutique floors to the mix, and use the leftover rooftop for a colonnade terrace overlooking the skyline...

I don’t understand how this development was able to persuade a major tenant like BOA. Although way before and plenty of time, it wasn’t so for Perots’ Field Street Tower project. They can’t get a major tenant, yet it was near the same location in fact the former BOA drive through bank. Anyway, hopefully this will be an indication that will start attracting tenants around the central business district area instead of the suburbs.

Honestly, it's pretty easy. This location is WAY closer to Mi Cocina!

New digs = prestige = stability.

And walkability was no doubt a factor.

The Perots should stick to developing cargo airports and warehouses. They don't have a clue on how to market and/or build Class A projects!

Personally, I think the Uptown location is just so much better. Right on the park and lots of places to eat plus great hotels all in walking distance. It just feels more alive right there. The Perot site doesn't have the same feel.

That is so true. They have had a modest success with low rise buildings, but they just don't have depth of experience to pull off a big Downtown tower. The Perot company's original 80+ story tower proposal was just a pipedream. Frankly, they should sell off the Field Street property to another developer.

I do believe that Goldman-Sachs' presence in the area will stimulate the immediate area for additional building to house those businesses associated with G-S and the financial industry. I think we might see high rise residential and hotels as well.

This is true, I have had meetings with companies looking at Dallas just because Goldman was looking at Dallas. Now that they are building, some of that will pan out. Would be great if some of that spilled over on the south side of Woodall to help that area build out and become more vibrant.

Anything significant happening over here? I can see it from our building but not very well. Looks like there are some materials that have been brought in, maybe for utility work? Not sure.

The FAA approval was just issues last week. Does anyone know why there are multiple approvals for the same project?

I watched the other late afternoon a lot of movement from the site was actually related to laying massive steel plates on to the Woodall Rodgers service road adjacent to KWP/Miriam's. I'm not sure anything layed down on site currently has anything to do with building a tower any time tomorrow. One thing at a time. Orchestra of shit to do to build things before building things. Also, see you in 5 years, Harwood bike lanes Union thingie.

Stormwater and utilities under or at least adjacent to Woodall Rodgers service road. Some goes through February and some goes through October. I imagine there's a point where the tower can start moving downward without the longer-term work on Woodall being totally done once the 2 closed lanes open back up so the thousand truck brigade can start hauling off all that dirt a little easier. They could dig sooner, but, wow it be wild through there at most times of the day with missing lanes on Woodall and Harwood just being Harwood. There's a couple of other traffic control permits that show 02FEB as completion date, but, seems to just be barriers/ramps for the site which is largely in place.

Dirt from Woodall canals being trenched is getting dumped on the site temporarily:

I'm sure it is being built illegally, won't be up to code, drivers won't be able to maneuver through the garage, and it will be under imminent threat of collapse once complete. I miss 1999 McKinney sometimes. Good times

I don't think people will gather in these spots in Dallas. Weather is difficult. Winds & extreme temperatures don't make for outdoor socializing like it is portrayed here.

I just can't believe such a prime spot is being wasted on a building that will be completely lifeless on the weekends.
Living next to Klyde Warren is such a bigger perk than working next to Klyde Warren. This building should have been a mix.

The 2nd tower is suppose to be mixed use. I believe a hotel component. That’s if it ever gets built.

I would think the office component would supply the nearby restaurants with customers during the week when the park crowds are smaller.
