Northpark Center
Re: Northpark Center
Not sure how large their stores are typically, but if Vineyard Vines closes or moves, that would be a large spot with the vacant spot next to it.

I’m the person who mentioned Mango in the past!
There’s a whole bunch of spaces near Macy’s that could be combined to accommodate one large store on the second floor.

Brighton is closing, I assume Blue Nile is taking its spot.

They closed their Galleria store years ago. Hopefully they relocate to Mockingbird of elsewhere.

I could see them going to Preston Center or something, but there's still multiple suburban locations around DFW.
Re: Northpark Center
Creed will open a store between Isabel Marant and the new Gucci location. They don't have the space carved out on the map yet, but I assume that will happen once Gucci moves.

Great addition, for sure!
It's already been revealed, but the signage is up for CAVA in the old Wich Which location. I love CAVA, so I am really excited about this one!

Yea, CAVA will be great and I'm glad we aren't losing WW.
Re: Northpark Center
It's confirmed that Blue Nile will go into the previous Brighton space.

That link you included says the project name is "Todd Snyder". Would that be this brand: https://www.toddsnyder.com/
Looks like there are plans to open in Dallas: https://www.sfchronicle.com/business/ar ... 646186.php
Where did you get the Joseph Ribkoff name?

alo is now open. Bottega Veneta has moved to a temp spot next to Rolex (where the temp Burberry store was) for what I assume is a store refresh. I believe Omega has a planned store refresh as well.

That space will be expanded to take up some of the space created from the GANNI buildout. I'm sure NorthPark already has a tenant lined up.

Re: Northpark Center
Does anyone know about the increased crime at NorthPark? I keep hearing about assaults in the parking lot and car jackings too. I know the center has had to step up their own private security force, but it sounds like they are being overwhelmed with organized criminal activity. This is a very sad development if true.

If this is true then it is really weird that none of these events have gotten any news coverage. There have been plenty of crime stories published about a different NorthPark Mall in Mississippi. I do hope this isn’t true though because I honestly feel safer at NorthPark than I do at Stonebriar or even The Galleria. But these large, high-end super-regional malls do typically attract their own fair share of crime unfortunately. Lenox Square is a perfect example of that, it got so bad that the mall had to install metal detectors. Houston’s Galleria has also seen a major increase in crime within the past couple years. The Grove in Los Angeles has had the Nordstrom robbed, along with other crime. Even if it is true NorthPark still seems safer than a lot of comparable centers throughout the country.
Speaking of Galleria Dallas, they’ve definitely stepped up their own security as well. Within recent years, you now have stands on the first floor for security/police that are very much visible.

Re: Northpark Center
A few years ago, similar stories were circulating cause Valley View had closed a Park Cities moms started noticing more minorities at North Park. They kept claiming North Park was being overrun by crime. It was mainly circulating on mommy blogs, and the real press ignored most of the news tips cause there was no evidence of an increase in crime rates. Then the online news site BubbleLife popular with the park cities crowd at the time, posted the story without facts and just posted the rumor, and it blew up, causing Dallas Police and NorthPark to issue statements denying the claims. One journalist publicly went over the false rumor after the fact with more evidence, but I am not sure what publication but they basically proved it was a race-based rumor based cause it seemed like the number of people at NorthPark appeared to have increased when Valley View closed. I have a feeling this is more of the same.

Either way, I still believe that NorthPark is considerably safer than most comparable malls throughout the country.
Here’s a story from Houston’s Galleria a couple months ago: https://www.fox26houston.com/news/offic ... leria-mall
And another from San Antonio’s Shops at La Cantera:
https://www.kens5.com/amp/article/news/ ... c0a3cb0ab5
These things are typical for malls this size, unfortunately.

Buck Mason should be opening any day now. The storefront is visible and pretty cool looking. I'm thinking the previous Sarah Flint Pop-Up location is going to be a relocated store. We shall see...
Any news on Ugg? They are definitely in a temporary location. Are they waiting on a particular space to free-up? Are they taking over the old Sarah Flint Pop-Up spot?

What's the vancancy rate at NorthPark right now?
I know about the macro-economic situation weighing down on the retail industry as a whole, but the lack of new-to-market stores (meaning new to DFW) and all of these closings as a late is still a bit concerning...

The only "Vacant" area is on the upper level across from AT&T which could be them assembling some storefronts for something. They always have something up their sleeve. The online map is not exactly the best way to track the mall's progress as it's not always up to date.
As for new to market stores... it's doing quite well:
Recently opened: Hive&Colony, Buck Mason, Scanlan Theodore, UpWest, Sarah Flint, alo, Maria Tash
Opening soon: Vuori, Anine Bing, GANNI, Maison Margiela, Breitling
Future opening: Blue Nile, Todd Snyder, Creed, Rhone

With of course also the current shuffle of stores to new spots... Burberry, Gucci, & Nike. I have been wondering who will take the current Nike spot now that they are changing the NM-Dil. corridor into more upscale than before... Possibly a space upgrade for Anthropologie? Maybe new to market COS ? Maybe a long promised but longshot of Prada/Miu Miu split storefront? haha

Mango was said to be looking at expanding to Dallas, but I'm not sure if that's the direction they are going with this space. It will be interesting to see if Lululemon stays, moves or leaves the mall.

COS is literally to H&M what Banana Republic is to Gap. There’s no way they’d get a storefront in the luxury wing when there’s the rest of the old Express space, those spaces up by Macy’s, and the old Disney Store space for them to take.

I can’t see Lululemon leaving, they’re a good tenant for the mall and they probably do more sales there than at the Galleria. There’s definitely other spaces they could take over, like I could see them moving in the rest of the Express space.

Prada has been said to be expanding to other markets, so I have no doubt NorthPark would get a store considering they’ve run many successful popups through Neiman Marcus.
A return by Armani and Bvlgari would be much appreciated though.

The space next to Express is huge and if Vineyard Vines moved or closed, it could combine into a good size space for something like Mango. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Victoria's Secret/Pink leave at some point. It would free up a lot of space and VS isn't as popular as it once was.
Re: Northpark Center
It is amazing to see so many stores come and go at NorthPark. The retail sector is certainly in turmoil post-Covid pandemic.

I recently worked at the VV there, and that store isn't planning on leaving/moving anytime soon. Vineyard Vines stores are expensive to renovate and build due to the interior decor, fixtures, and design. Not to mention, their NorthPark store does significantly better than Southlake, and much better than Willow Bend.

This isn’t necessarily exclusive to the pandemic at NorthPark, back in 2016 they did a massive reshuffling of stores (especially replacing low-end ones with higher end ones) that seemed to be pretty significant. It was also very significant that HPV and NorthPark were swapping a lot of stores with each other, with Valentino and Cartier moving to HPV and Balenciaga and Saint Laurent coming to NorthPark. I think, on top of the effects that the pandemic had, the demand that NorthPark had to keep up with as the top mall in Dallas to keep market-exclusive stores also contributes to this.

That would be so nice, although I’m curious as to whether most designer brands (aside from the big ones like Louis, Gucci, Tiffany, etc;) would be interested in a second or third Dallas location.

Re: Northpark Center
I was waiting on them to move or close. They currently have way too big of a footprint in the mall. That will open up a good amount of space and perhaps be a good location for the rumored Mango store coming to Dallas.
