He is referring to the Harwood tower mentioned in another thread with a huge parking garage and more office space above it.homeworld1031tx wrote:R1070 wrote:Wait until the 20 story garage is built next to the Ascent.
Not familiar with this project - what exactly is it? Additional parking for AAC? Is the city doing it?

Great pics!
Re: The Link at Uptown
Only three more floors to go, it looks like.
Re: The Link at Uptown
Very tall garage, almost looks like the garage has more square footage than the office portion.

It's pretty darn close, haha: https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS/Search/ ... 2019017302Tnexster wrote:Very tall garage, almost looks like the garage has more square footage than the office portion.
The Link at Uptown website states 292KSF rentable office space.
Re: The Link at Uptown
I really like how this looks. I think there’s one more floor left and then roof stuff.
Re: The Link at Uptown
It's looking great, unlike Harwood's new turd (Swexan) just down the street.

It does a pretty good job disguising that half of it is parking.
Re: The Link at Uptown
This construction has moved along quite briskly on this project. Looks terrific.
Re: The Link at Uptown
Looking east. Slots in nicely between Saint Ann Court and The Christopher.

Can you imagine having to drive up 12 floors to park?

I was underwhelmed by pictures of this one, bit it seems to be shaping up nicely.

Amazing to see this tower's exterior nearly completed, yet the nearby Swexan Hotel development, which broke ground well over a year prior than The Link at Uptown and is actually a smaller tower, is still not fully completed on the exterior.dalbert wrote:IMG_3590.jpg

Looks great. I wish that hotel had gone up where that small shopping strip is though.

Re: The Link at Uptown
This new building looks great. It really enhances this part of Uptown.
Re: The Link at Uptown
Wasn't there a proposed development for this strip center some years ago? I assume it fell through because I haven't heard anything for a while. I'm sure it's only a matter of time though.R1070 wrote:Looks great. I wish that hotel had gone up where that small shopping strip is though.

Yes that’s the hotel project I’m referring to.

Crane being disassembled today....
Re: The Link at Uptown
So, uh, how's that crane disassembly going?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Dallas/comments/nkzbh7/did_a_crane_fall_over_near_victory_park/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
I assume laying it on its side is not part of the process?
But I guess if you've got a massive parking lot for space why not.

Re: The Link at Uptown
Great photos CTroyMathis.
This building completes a nice set of bookends for the west side of Uptown, along with the Union and 17Seventeen. I imagine that some time will pass before anything happens with the surface lots along Field St. Until then, Akard is it.

Agreed. I can't wait to see what it looks like at night once they flip on the LEDs. Curious to see if they'll ever be multicolored or just remain white like the renders.texasstar wrote:Nice photos, Guys! I really love how this tower turned out.
Also, seeing this complete gives me hope for the Field Street District, since that's another Kaizen project.

Anyone know if the LEDs are lighting up at night yet? Doubt it, but definitely interested to see how it looks at night.

Re: The Link at Uptown
I haven't seen it yet, but, that's just a random anecdotal. I could've simply missed it. I forgot that was going to be a thing for the building actually.
