Now the fun part begins watching it rise up and take it's place in the arts district.

Indeed! You can already start to imagine the impact it will have at the pedestrian/street level, as well as the hole in the skyline it will help fill.

This last shot sums up so much of why it's such an exciting time to be in Dallas! Thanks for posting!

I don't think it's that slow considering that they took out an entire block, went down first and started back up. Once this project got under way the movement seems like its been pretty good, especially considering how much rain we get which doesn't help anything.

Looking down at this tower going up every day one can't help but notice the base of this structure is enormous. Taking up the entire block and rising six floors now, going on seven. Those poor folks on the lower levels over at Museum will be looking at a parking garage forever.

Those pooor millionaires

It is unfortunate that every building going up in Dallas has to sit on a parking podium to be financially feasible, but nonetheless I don't own a unit at MT, and I am more than pleased this one is going up!!

Yep, I'm really excited about this project and couldn't be happier about the retail it's bringing.

Re. views, people have to assume that when they buy/rent a place next to an empty or underutilized lot, that empty or underutilized lot won't stay that way forever. Something (probably tall) will eventually, inevitably be built on that lot.

So by the looks of the base they are indeed building the Flora lofts portion along side the Atelier Tower?

It would be physically impossible to build the upper tower without the lower section...

They can still leave a shell for the lofts portion if the funding isn't in place.

^just thinking out loud, so to speak, but I'd like it if the lower section more affordable dwelling square footage was dedicated to a new museum instead of residential. I'd love to have another variation of the Dallas Contemporary operating inside the Arts District.

This place will have a ton of parking, didn't they go down at least two levels plus a podium going up six?

I walked by the other day and it sure looks like they're at least building a skeleton of the Flora Lofts portion.

On the plus side, Museum Tower residents will no longer have to deal with that annoying glare from Chase Tower.

Funny because it is the glare from Museum Tower that everyone complains about.

Looks like they are on about level 8 of the parking podium which I assume is for the residents of the building. Since they have parking underneath as well do they intend to use that for retail/tourism and Arts District parking?

Nice shot! The panorama photo turned that car in the middle into something a mouse in Richard Scarry's Busy World would drive.

The floor plate shape has changed, finally taking on that angular shape in the renderings.

Good stuff. Their “Entertainment” section made me laugh, though: The Meyerson, The Bomb Factory, The Winspear.

This City of Dallas link from a post by tucy on page 1 of this topic has some more renderings and goes into detail about the design.

Atelier Flora Lofts continue to rise rapidly. Nearly 1/3 of the building's structure is up.

So it does. This is not the first time a developer has exaggerated on their website. ;-)

There is no 13th floor, so while their plans show a "41st" floor, it is in reality only the 40th floor. Plus, they seem to do some funny counting on the base levels. It looks like it's really 39 stories.

Moving much faster since they reached the residential tower portion but those floor plates are much smaller.
