Re: The Christopher @The Union (28 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
I didn't realize the residential tower was going to be 31 floors.
Re: The Christopher @The Union (28 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
It's a big tower, a ton of new residential coming into that area, would be nice if Harwood would do something with the vacant lot next door.

That residential tower is tall, hope they can fill up all those units. This will bring so much life to a previously empty parking lot. Not sure about how well connectivity to nearby buildings will be.
Re: The Christopher @The Union (28 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
I think they are working on the 27th floor now of 31 if I'm not mistaken.

Re: The Christopher @The Union (31 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
The CPC agenda for this week has a request from The Union to approve their blade and monument signs for Tom Thumb and the other retail tenants. I remember North Italia and Starbucks discussed, but you can see Sumo Maya, Chop't, Seasons 52 and Jimmy John's rounding out the list.
Jimmy John's is an odd choice considering how close this is to the Victory Park location.

Hmm, Sumo Maya very close to Meso Maya (no relation).
Re: The Christopher @The Union (31 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
I'd imagine so. With Bottle Blonde and other AZ concepts having their eye on the area, I wouldn't be surprised.
Re: The Christopher @The Union (31 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
Jimmy John's not far away either
Re: The Christopher @The Union (31 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
It looks like The Christopher is topped out.

It is topped out and another one of the cranes came down last week, think it was Friday.

Great! I’m so ready for the project’s completion. It’s going to further energize that part of Victory Park/Uptown. The TT will give people more reasons to live in the area too. (Including Downtown)

I haven't seen this one up close in a while, but does it look like the office tower is wrapping up? I would love to see Tom Thumb open in the next few months.

Haven't been close enough to see for sure but it looks like there is a lot of ground level activity still taking place, the south side of the tower still has the exterior elevator in place and working.

These buildings are leading up nicely. Maple / Cedar Springs is looking more plausible every day.

The construction elevator on the office tower has been removed and is being glassed in.

Maple/Cedar Springs is looking more plausible as what? Are you referring to the proposed tower at that intersection and if so, what does that have to do with the Union?

Haven't visited this construction site in a while, but shouldn't we be having a rough timeline for completion? Tom Thumb should have a target opening month by now.
Re: The Christopher @The Union (31 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
I wonder how to get tickets for cinepolis victory park. I checked their website but just has the Menu to look at. Anyone knows how to purchase them? Maybe it will be available soon after the grand opening.
Re: The Christopher @The Union (31 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
can just get them on the website

Here’s the interior update of Tom Thumb, posted on The Union’s Instagram. I’m starting to think, it’s going to look very similar to Tom Thumb’s new urban concept store in Fort Worth’s West 7th District.

In keeping with the theme of this entire freaking building, Tom Thumb should just go ahead and rename this particular location "The Thomas".

"We want to provide an location that is fun and inspiring for our office," Wittorf said. "Uptown Dallas is very high energy environment.

"It's got the added benefit that a lot of our colleagues we are doing business with are in Uptown."

Uptown's newest high-rise is open for business at The Union

Uptown Dallas' newest real estate project has started opening its doors.
The first office tenants have moved into the more than $300 million Union complex on Field Street just north of downtown.
"We're now more than 60 percent leased," said Mike Ebert, managing partner with project developer RED Development. "We really are the Union of this neighborhood that ties Victory, Klyde Warren Park and Uptown all together.
"We've been planning this project for four years now."
The 2-tower development includes an office building, high-rise residential project and retail center anchored by a Tom Thumb supermarket.
Office tenants including accounting firm Weaver, StreetLights Residential and hedge firm HBK have already relocated to offices in the 22-story, more than 400,000-square-foot office tower
One of the Dallas area's best-known property firms — commercial real estate firm Transwestern — also plans to relocate its regional offices from north of LBJ Freeway to the The Union. Transwestern is leasing 21,000 square feet of offices in the project.
Transwestern, which has more than 250 people working in its North Texas operations, plans to move its offices to the Union next spring, said Paul Wittorf, executive managing partner and market leader for Transwestern's North Texas office.
"We want to provide an location that is fun and inspiring for our office," Wittorf said. "Uptown Dallas is very high energy environment. It's got the added benefit that a lot of our colleagues we are doing business with are in Uptown."
Transwestern will relocate from the Providence Towers on the Dallas North Tollway, where it has had its office for more than a decade. Witorff said his company will maintain a smaller office in the Farmers Branch building after the move. He said The Union project in Uptown is the perfect fit for the company.
"Service providers like our firm are looking to getting into a more walkable environment," Wittorf said.
RED Development's Union project also includes a 31-story, 309-unit apartment high-rise and a retail and restaurant center surrounding a half-acre park.
"We think we have the best amenity package of any building in Uptown," said John Brownlee with Peloton Commercial Real Estate, which leases offices at The Union. "We have so much activity now that people can come see the building.
"What makes this project special is RED's expertise on the retail side."
The retail center with seven restaurants and the Tom Thumb grocery store will start opening early next year.
StreetLights Residential is building the Christopher residential tower, which will welcome its first tenants in January.
"We think our rental profile will be people in their 30s and 40s," said StreetLights residential founder Doug Chesnut. "We have 14 penthouses. Looking back toward downtown, we have spectacular views."
Architect HKS designed The Union, and DPR Construction is the general contractor.

Considering how long the city has wished for grocery stores to come further south I imagine they will have a grand opening event with the press and mayor invited to cut the ribbon. They will want to use the moment to cheerlead about the progress of Downtown having grocery options. Soft opening maybe but that would be just done silently someday when none of us is paying attention.

It is a nice looking development, I have not looked around to see how easy it will be for people to walk down here from locations up McKinney although maybe it isn't too bad. I kind of like the way it is oriented so as to shield the central area from the sun in the afternoons.

Pretty much all of the retail space has been leased at The Union... Creamistry is the latest to sign a lease, and the last available retail spot is currently "at lease". I drove by this weekend and The Henry is looking pretty sweet!
Re: The Christopher @The Union (31 ST) + The Union office tower (22 ST)
The Tom Thumb space is coming alone, looks like they are starting to setup the interior, hopefully will be open before too long.
