Roanoke: misc. developments

Postby itsjrd1964 » 29 May 2019 02:14

Peabody Hotel with its famous ducks coming to Roanoke in Denton County

A Memphis company is bringing a Peabody to Roanoke, with 300 rooms, 2 restaurants, a spa, and a flock of ducks included in the hotel lobby's fountain. The article didn't specify exact location (although it said near Texas Motor Speedway), nor construction/opening timeline.

Just a follow-up. The Peabody Hotel project still hasn't started.

I wondered. I've always thought this project was just a *little* ambitious for a place the size of Roanoke. If the analysts are even somewhat right regarding travel, a new hotel the size and scope of this one would take a while to realize its occupancy/ADR forecasts, much less make back its construction costs in room/F&B revenue.
