Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' Blue Star Land has the dirt flying in Prosper
The Gates of Prosper, a project with an ultimate size of around 500 acres at Preston/US 380, has completed its first phase (retail including Walmart, DSW, T.J. Maxx, Burlington, Ross, Old Navy, and Dick's Sporting Goods) and is onto the next phase (more retail, plus restaurants and a hotel). Initial construction has centered on the northeast corner of the intersection, but Blue Star also owns several acres on the northwest corner which will figure into later additions to The Gates of Prosper. Developers want to have mixed-use aspects to the development, and not be too retail-heavy, with the possibility of having "entertainment" tenants as part of the project.

Second pediatric health care system announces new location in Prosper
Cook Children's is planning a new complex at US 380/Windsong Pkwy. that will evoke the original Fort Worth complex down to the blue pyramid-shaped roof accents. It will open in phases between now and 2022. Meanwhile, nearby, Children's Health has announced plans for its own pediatric complex near US 380/Dallas N. Tollway, on a 72-acre site.

At first I was going to say "Ha! I'll believe it when I see it!"
Then I read the article and realized it's already built! Maybe I've been asleep, but I feel like this lagoon didn't get a fraction of the hubbub that failed lagoon in Rowlett did.

New apartments coming to Prosper's "historic downtown."
https://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2021/06/01/new-apartments-on-the-way-in-prospers-old-downtown-district/
You'll never catch me in Prosper, but more apartments are definitely a good thing for them. Hopefully, the downtown can retain some of the historic "charm" and/or old main street feel. I'm all about more residents and some density, especially in places like this (less tract housing sprawl in the exurbs with more apartments, maybe?), but also hope they read the room and have some situational awareness (really referring to future developers/developments).

Prosper ISD wants to put a $2.8 billion bond proposal before local voters in November.
The big portion of the bond election is....
*$94 million* for a new Prosper ISD football stadium. This would be TX' most expensive high school stadium, more expensive than recent pricey ones that McKinney and Allen each have added.
Local residents are concerned about their property taxes, although the school district big-wigs insist the bond $$$ would pay for everything, and not ask taxpayers for anything more than they already pay.
