The mall has landed the first US location of Peppa Pig's World of Play, based on the children's show from the UK. It will open next year.

If it means fewer children running amok at other stores/restaurants/malls in the area I'm all for it.

I already disliked this mall every time I visited it in the past now I really know it was not meant for me. I'll stay where I belong down in Dallas proper.

Kids are already going wild for the new Peppa Pig playplace in Grapevine

Apparently the soft opening for it happened already, the official opening is this coming week.

A new Macy's Backstage off-price store is opening in mid-May in a freestanding space just outside Grapevine Mills.

I think CultureMap did some bad reporting there. The Macy's Backstage at Grapevine Mills will be "freestanding" in the sense that it is not within the footprint of a full Macy's store, not in the sense that it is outside of the mall in a freestanding building. Per the DMN, the Grapevine Mills Macy's Backstage will be in the "former VF Outlet space between Rainforest Cafe and Fieldhouse USA."

I wonder why this mall doesn't try to court higher end retailers. Allen already has an Armani outlet store, I feel like Grapevine Mills would do well with those types of designer stores, considering its proximity to the airport and the Fort Worth side of the metroplex. It could end up like those outlets in San Marcos.
