Mehrdad Moayedi, of the recent Statler hotel/residences redo, is now taking on the Mesquite Rodeo grounds. He is acquiring another 50 acres alongside it and has a mixed-use development in mind. He thinks the area is underutilized. He wants to have a new concrete base put in the arena so it can used for events other than rodeos, and plans apartments on some of the nearby land.

That man looks a little too overstretched he needs to contain himself damn. It's one thing to buy up land its another thing to plan so many projects at the same time. Not too many developers can handle that many projects at once. It takes a lot of smart and well-organized people to run that many teams concurrently.

Verde Center at Peachtree, a planned medical campus development, is set for the SW corner of I-635/Gross. Construction is due to start the middle of next year.

Mesquite approves $71 million industrial park on Interstate-30

A new industrial/logistics park is planned for the north side of I-30 between Galloway and Northwest Dr., east of I-635. There are plans for 5 buildings on 80 acres.

Massive mixed-use project and industrial park coming to Mesquite

Spradley Farms will be located at I-20/FM 2757 in Kaufman County between Forney and Crandall. It will have over 2000 single-family homes, plus retail, open space/parks, and more on 652 acres. No timelines were mentioned, but the project is still being planned.

The Mesquite city council approved the Spradley Farms project, as well as a business/industrial park (mentioned in the previous posting) along I-30.

New shopping center on the way in Mesquite

Mesquite has approved plans for a new retail project with as many as six buildings.

It’s one of the few new suburban shopping center developments in the works since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Shadow Creek Crossing shopping center is planned on seven acres at 3201 East Cartwright Road at Faithon Lucas Sr. Boulevard, next to John D. Horn High School.

The 57,500 square feet project is planned on property owned by LF Gateway LP.

The $16 million project will be developed Cypress Capital, managed by TRIA Ventures.

“The approval of the Shadow Creek Crossing project is exciting news,” Mesquite councilman and mayor pro tem Daniel Aleman said in a statement. “There is tremendous growth happening in that part of our community and residents in this area have been waiting for new retail development.

“I am excited about LF Gateway’s plan to bring new shopping and dining opportunities to South Mesquite.”

Mesquite is seeing a surge in residential development in the area around the new shopping center, which is east of Interstate 635 and north of Interstate 20.

“At this time, the near-term growth of South Mesquite is undeniable, and I am very much looking forward to seeing dirt begin moving on the residential and industrial projects that surround this site,” Seth Grubstein, president of Cypress Capital, said in a statement. “I am confident that the businesses that call Shadow Creek Crossing home will find great success here.”
