A groundbreaking took place for a new on-campus health science center. It will be a source of learning in many medical fields, not only to train students who want to apply their knowledge in the DFW core area, but also will look toward training for underserved rural medical opportunities just outside the metro area. The State legislature approved $100 million in funding for the project. The center is projected to be complete in summer 2025, in time for fall classes that year.
The health science center project is coming together along with a general fundraising campaign dubbed "Dream Big", which wants to raise $125 million ($103 million already has been raised) for further growth and development of the TWU campus across several different subjects of learning.
