Denison/Lake Texoma: Preston Harbor

Postby itsjrd1964 » 16 May 2023 12:02

David Craig (as in McKinney's Craig Ranch development) has announced plans for a 3000+ acre mixed-use development on Lake Texoma. 20 years in the making, it will have single- and multi-family residential, a marina with as many as 400-600 boat slips, a hotel, retail, restaurants, and interest from an unnamed active adult community developer. No timelines were disclosed, but the size is described as larger than Craig Ranch or Frisco's Fields development.

How many chip manufacturing warehouses are getting built up there? How many times more than what currently exists in the Metroplex?

Just 2 have been announced so far, with combined total new jobs of 4,500.

That's right (sort of).

TI will be opening a facility creating 3K jobs, and a supplier to TI will be opening their own facility creating 1,500 jobs.

More on Preston Harbor: Margaritaville has been named as the hotel resort at the development. Preston Harbor is set to have groundbreaking later this year, but no other timelines were mentioned, including for Margaritaville. One source mentions the Choctaw Nation as one of the backers of the Preston Harbor project.

This is technically a separate project on the OK side of Lake Texoma, but still...

It's not just on the other side of the lake, it's way up there. Interesting spot for this. Maybe being a casino and a Hard Rock Casino it will be a draw.
