As north Texas grows, the sprawl continues, I guess...

Now another edge development, Waterscape, gets going on 300 acres. 50 of the first 275 homesites have already sold. Plans call for 1000 homes to be built there in total.

A Tennessee-based builder of rental homes is expanding to North Texas with plans to construct 500 houses across multiple communities in the Dallas area as the surge in build-to-rent residences in the region intensifies.

Kinloch Partners LLC, based in Nashville, is planning multiple projects totaling 500 homes in North Texas during the next 18 months, the company said this week. The company has purchased multiple lots in Royse City, northeast of Dallas, and plans a subdivision of affordable single-family rental homes in the fast-growing city.

From that foothold, Kinloch Partners plans to aggressively expand its holdings in the Dallas area, with multiple build-to-rent projects.

The houses will range from 2,000 to 2,500 square feet and will be priced from $200,000 to $300,000. Rent will be under $2,000 per month, according to the company...
