Looks like Victoria's Secret is moving. I think space 723 is the former Express.

Can you remind us where that is?

Express moved over to the previous Gap kids/baby space and retained a small portion of their former space. This created a new space across from the current Victoria's Secret.

Maison Margiela is now open. It's only a matter time before A&F, Breitling and Rhone open.

I was at NorthPark this past Sunday, and it was 90s packed (by that, meaning, you could barely find a parking spot anywhere).

I actually was there on black friday. Got there at 11 AM, had to go to the fourth floor of the Nordstrom garage to park. By the time I left, even that was completely full.

Prada does not have stores in either Houston or Dallas. Prada already has a store in Atlanta and Seattle and San Jose.

The Houston store is temporarily closed while moving to a new location within the Galleria. They are servicing customers at Saks in the meantime if I'm not mistaken. Dallas def needs a store.

Not exactly on topic, but I like to give credit where it's due. I got to visit the Houston Galleria recently and the new Prada location is indeed under construction. (it seems odd they would be willing to go without a storefront for so long rather than stay where they were until the new location was ready or move to a temporary storefront; I presume Dior/Simon made them an offer they couldn't refuse. Dior is open in the former Prada location, plus additional space next door. Beautiful store!)

It would be nice to see Prada or Dior go into the Gucci spot after they move.

Not that I'm aware of. I was just saying, I wouldn't be surprised to see it move into that space. Dior is opening larger mall spaces in Houston and Atlanta vs the smaller outdoor shopping spaces they have in those cities.

BareMinerals is closing. I think this could be a good space for Ugg to move to since they are in a temporary spot at the moment.

The space might be too small for UGG, but that whole Food Court/Macy's wing has had a major store overhaul in the past 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if Lego moved upstairs, and Janie & Jack closed or moved.

Yea, add in Everything But Water, which has a location at Preston Center. I believe Peloton plans to close a lot if not all of it's retail stores at some point, so that could go too.

Papercity Magazine Dallas reports luxury retailers Jil Sander & Marni are expected to open boutiques in Spring 2023. This will be only the second location in the United States for Jil Sander (NYC has the other), and the eighth location for Marni (Texas Exclusive). Boutique locations in Northpark Center unknown.

Both brands are owned by Only the Brave (OTB Group), which operates Diesel & Maison Margiela already at Northpark Center. The Group also owns AMIRI & Viktor&Rolf so maybe they will follow with openings soon to complete the set? lol

Loewe, Givenchy, Chloe and Lanvin are the exclusive brands that would be great to have in Dallas! Of course a return of Prada and Bulgari would be nice as well.

Last time they departed was mostly because the mall was kicking a bunch of tenants out to replace with higher end ones, including their sister brand, Hollister. They’ve revamped their brand quite a bit, but I doubt they’ll open up a Hollister branch there. I’d love to see one at Park Lane, though, on the street level, or at Mockingbird Station.

It was in the December 2022 Dallas Magazine. No article yet but here is a screen shot from the digital edition of the publication announcing the openings.

Todd Snyder is going into the previous Frye space not Eileen Fisher. Scanlan Theodore took this spot.
I could see Jil Sander and Marni taking the previous Ann Taylor and Rebecca Taylor spots or temp Bottega Veneta space.
Omega and Sunglass hut are just remodeling, so they will go back to their respective spots once those remodels are done.
Also, Ray Ban is remodeling and will reopen in April and BareMinerals is closed.
I could see Ugg going into the previous Morphe or BareMinerals spots. And wouldn't be surpised if MAC moved as well. I'm also waiting to see how long Everything But Water and Aldo stick around.

Thanks I figured I would miss a few haha I will update !

Definitely quite a lot moving around, I will be interested in seeing what takes the space of the current Nike/if it is split to multiple spots.

So many possibilities, just wish they would announce more since they seem to have a well thought out plan haha

I agree. According to the AMC site, it sounds like it may reopen in another location around DFW. That tells me that Northpark must have plans for that space.

Absolutely devastating considering it was probably the nicest restaurant in the whole mall, aside from The Mermaid Bar. I really hope they move somewhere else in Dallas, or even just to the old Theodore space.

The restaurant scene at NorthPark is very much lacking. It makes no sense that there's a P.F. Changs right behind a Burberry, especially as they've opened so many of those around the metroplex. Obviously Joey will be a welcome addition, but it seems that sit-down restaurants at NorthPark aren't very much desired, especially as nothing has taken over the old Theodore space, nor those spaces underneath the movie theatre. There's still a vacancy where La Duni used to be.

According to CultureMap, apparently there was a "lease problem." I interpret that to mean NorthPark was trying to force them into some ridiculous terms for their renewal.

The article also says it was successful though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they show up in another location nearby.

In any event, for now, DFW only has 1 location remaining (Legacy Town Center in Plano).

Agree with the restaurant problem at the mall. Sooooo many long term vacancies. Seems like they need to go for more exclusive destination type restaurants. Would love to see a Laduree, Le Colonial, Magnolia Bakery, Ralph’s Coffee, La Maison du Chocolat, Parm, Gucci Osteria or Blue Box Cafe.

I think Eataly is not to be forgotten and definitely an asset to the food scene at Northpark, but agree if could use some major names to help improve the dining experiences. Maybe they can poach some restaurants/offshoots of popular restaurants like Tei-An, Lucia, CBD Provisions, Nobu...Maybe even Pecan Lodge to appeal to tourists.

Laduree and La Maison du Chocolat are dreams for me to have in Dallas, but nice to see local Kate Weiser by Neimans to support that sweet tooth.

Gucci Osteria is a missed opportunity with the brand taking a big step up in the presence at Northpark, and seems like it could have been fit into the new boutique. But with only 1 US location (4 worldwide in total) not a surprise they are not rushing into opening more.

La La Land is filling a gap in the coffee/cafe scene (that is aided by Eataly, Nespresso, and Nordstrom), however since Ralph Lauren is at HP Village I would like to see if they open a Ralph's Coffee in the upcoming renovation of the boutique. HP Village desperately needs better coffee for the status they command at the center, with only a Starbucks to show for it.

There is no shortage in cafes at NorthPark, especially considering the center includes two Starbucks locations in addition to La La Land, eBar, Nespresso, and Eataly. Eataly is definitely a good asset to the mall, but I would hope Corner Bakery and PF Changs are replaced with better restaurants considering that they are only steps away from Breitling and Burberry. They could even move Corner Bakery to the old La Duni or Green House Market space and that would be good.

The restaurant spots on the 2nd level behind the AMC ticketing booth are a waste. Those should just be absorbed into nearby retail space.
The previous Theodore space and the current PF Changs are all that really needs to be looked into. Upscale Asian and Latin concepts in those spaces would be really nice.

Does anyone think some of the closings might signal that Northpark might finally be making some big changes and moving towards a mixed-use future? The rebirth of Northpark needs to come soon. There is so much stored potential in the surface parking lots (especially on the north side of the property) to become a mixed use village with greenspace, street level retail/dining, residential, hotel, and possibly even office. All with a higher end focus. The existing street grid between the parking lots on the north side already would work well for higher density development, split into 7 or 8 separate blocks.

I wish they would just tear down Macys and Dillards, and replace them with a residential and hotel tower on both lots.

That Corner Bakery in the mall looks horrific and it’s only steps away from Margiela… tragic

I doubt the parking lots will ever turn into much realistically.

I agree with demolishing Macy's or Dillard's, but only if they're replaced with Saks.

At least replace Macy's with Bloomingdale's, their sister company. Bloomingdales is showing interest in growing in new markets (including Texas). I've emailed NP with store suggestions before. Hopefully they take feedback from the public.

My dream would be knocking down Macys, building a 20 story white brick residential tower with an Erewhon at the bottom.

Saks would be great because it would force Neimans to update their store, some parts of which have lower ceilings than the DMV.

I’ve definitely mentioned several times how awful it is to have a PF Changs right behind Burberry, and a Corner Bakery steps away from Margiela and right in front of Breitling.

I really hope Macy’s converts to a Bloomingdales location, I’m sure the Galleria location would be a valid flagship for the area still. And it would give more options at a mall that wants to be more high end. I’m glad that Macy’s hasn’t brought their Backstage concept to NorthPark yet.

Saks should take over Dillards, considering Dillards is in the same tier as Macy’s and Nordstrom.

I always imagined that parking lot in between Macy’s and Dillards being combined with the old Theodore to become a new hotel building.

A Macy's to Bloomingdale's conversion would work too, while the Galleria becomes their sole flagship store.

But of course, with NorthPark being locally/family-owned *AND* Neimans being locally based, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of a conspiracy between the two to keep out both Saks and Bloomingdales.
