Re: Rankings and Quality of Life
Look at the commute times for people in South Dallas city and county. We need more jobs in Southern Dallas county and better transit. Ridiculous.
Also are median home prices they have listed even up to date? 210k.. I thought it was 223-225 range.

A big multi-'player' inland port like Alliance Airport would be fantastic in South Dallas....

It was attempted. Alliance killed it.

I don't see anything in that article that suggests anyone attempted to build or plan a freight airport in southern Dallas.
Re: Rankings and Quality of Life
Lancaster Airport was once identified for such a conversion; I think the airport plans were getting attention around the same time BNSF was buying land for an intermodal terminal. BNSF still owns the land with plans to eventually join Union Pacific in the area.
Re: Rankings and Quality of Life
I remember many meetings with the Allen Group back when IIPOD was such a big deal and what they intended to turn the Lancaster airport into, too bad that didn't work out as planned. All those warehouses are there but they spilled out along I-20 and I-45 and not in the organized fashion that had been envisioned.
