I just saw the pics on Instagram of RL HPV new location. It has to be a temporary?!?!!! Terrible outdoor signage, horrible tile flooring, track lights from the 80s, ceiling tiles. This looks like it was slapped together in a 24 hour period. Does anyone have any insight?

Unfortunately I think it is too. I just saw the pics of the “perm” home store on Knox and it’s not much better with similar track lighting. Really too bad - I mean Ralph’s Club Monaco stores have more high end fixtures. And his new Ralph’s Coffees have very high end finishes even if it’s not the dark paneled wood look I guess he may be going away from.

According to a RL associate the previous RL space is turning into a Dior flagship. The RL and RL Home stores are temporary and they will be recombined in a new space at HPV in 18ish months. So that’s good news.

I wonder why they would give up their space in the first place if they intended to bring all the lines back together at HP Village. They had a pretty sweet setup already.

I wonder if RL plans to bring Ralph’s Coffee or even a restaurant to town and needed a space that would better accommodate that. I think the current Chanel pop up Woolf be too small. Unless The Conservatory’s lease isn’t long term and they could take up 2 floors.

Diptyque announced more openings in "secondary markets" after opening multiple boutiques in primary markets like Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. They specifically named several cities including Dallas. I wonder if they would consider opening a second store in HP Village.

It’s a homegoods type of store, selling candles and fragrances. If there’s anywhere they should open, it’s Knox Street.

I’m sure the stores that have other Dallas locations (Tory Burch, Blue Mercury) have been at the center for a while and will likely vacate once their leases expire. That said, I’m sure they do well, and it would be nice for them to relocate to Knox.

You were given good intel:

Dior takes rare two-level spot at Highland Park Village that Ralph Lauren vacated
https://www.dallasnews.com/business/retail/2023/03/29/dior-takes-rare-two-level-highland-park-village-space-left-by-ralph-lauren/

"The big buzz around Highland Park Village is about the large space that became available last month when Ralph Lauren moved out of the two-level building it had occupied since 1978.

The rare space is going to Christian Dior. A total remodel will take a while, and the new Dior store may not open until next year.

Dior will move from its small boutique space between Fendi and Moncler on the shopping center’s south side. Dior hasn’t yet responded to a request for information.

Dior moved into Highland Park Village in 2013, taking the former Cooter’s Village Camera space. It was part of a new wave that included Alexander McQueen joining the already impressive list of designer boutiques including Harry Winston and Beretta."

Is Dior taking up the entire space?

I checked out Material Good's website and they have some beautiful pieces. I think it will be a hit.

Still waiting on Givenchy, Zadig & Voltaire, Wolford and Lafayette New York 148 to open stores here though...

Per the HPV website, the Ralph Lauren store was 13,400 square feet (so they downsized, even when the square footage of their two replacement stores is combined)

I’m glad they’re expanding top brands instead of just adding as many brands as possible. It’s nice to have a decent presentation.

Curious what will happen once current Dior, current Chanel pop up, and the old Reformation/Escada spots are leased. Build up?

I could only read bits of it, but it looks like Loewe will open in addition to Brioni and Balmain.

Now we just need for Dallas to get Chloe, Lanvin and Givenchy. :)

Bringing back Bulgari and possibly Armani would be nice too!

Highland Park Village adds to its list of luxury brand shops

Three of the four shops are first for Texas.

Highland Park Village has signed on four new designer shops with plans to open this summer and fall.

Three of them will be opening their first standalone shops in Texas, said Stephen Summers, whose family who co-owns Highland Park Village with the Washburne family.

French designer brand Balmain isn’t one of those, but it will be the first boutique for the brand in Dallas. Balmain has a store in the Houston Galleria and will open in Highland Park Village this fall.

Dallas customers are familiar with the brand. Balmain just ended a popup with an exclusive 1920s-inspired sportswear collection for Neiman Marcus at the Dallas-based retailer’s NorthPark Center store. Last year, the brand created another exclusive collection, Balmain x Barbie, for Neiman Marcus.

D-FW Retail News

The latest on retail openings, closings and trends in D-FW.

“Dallas is an incredibly important market for Balmain,” said Emily George, president of the brand’s Americas business. She added Dallas is home to many longtime top customers and new ones.

A Balmain popup shop was recently in Neiman Marcus at NorthPark Center to feature the French brand's exclusive spring and summer 2023 collection for the Dallas-based retailer.(Neiman Marcus)
Los Angeles-based fashion line Simkhai will open this summer. The brand has had a popup in Highland Park Village’s Market boutique over the past year. Market houses a selection of designers ranging from global fashion houses to up-and-coming designers and those brands can end up in their own stores.

Italian bespoke brand Brioni, founded in Rome and part of the Kering Group, makes apparel, leather goods, shoes and accessories. It will open this summer.

Loewe, one of the oldest fashion houses founded in Spain 177 years ago, will open this fall. The brand has recently gone through a rejuvenation. This shop will sell women’s apparel, bags, small leather goods, accessories, shoes, belts, sunglasses, and sterling silver jewelry.

Highland Park Village has 60 stores and restaurants including its newest store, Moncler, which opened in March.

Dallas continues to attract luxury brand shops. Highland Park Village and NorthPark have both been attracting their share of them. Prada just confirmed it’s planning a store at NorthPark.

Thanks to another poster’s tip that using Safari reader mode gets you behind the DMN paywall!

DMN doesn’t do a great job fact checking as per usual. I’m quite sure there is a Balmain only inside Saks/Neimans/Nordstrom at the Houston Galleria. So this is their first actual boutique in Texas.

Loewe is a great get. First one for middle America again putting Dallas ahead of some brands to go to first before cities like Chicago, Houston and Atlanta. The Washburns have done a nice job and I like what they are doing on Knox too.

Agree with R1070 brands we need. Northpark has a lot of empty spots so will be interesting to see what happens there and in the temp Chanel space

Curious about Brioni opening this Summer. Perhaps it's going in where the Reformation pop-up was.

Balmain is going into the vacant space next to Loro Piana, so that store is not expanding into that space as someone had previously mentioned here.

Jonathan Simkhai will open in the previous la Perla space.

I have no clue where Loewe will go. I assume something is closing to make way for it, unless it goes in where Dior is now.
