The newest (and 90th in total) TX state park is coming together this year just SW of Strawn. It will be primitive and natural, with campsites, trails, and a 90-acre lake.

The Houston paper is reporting that 3 state parks are due to be developed and open in the next few years. Palo Pinto is mentioned as 1 of them.
