Fort Worth: Texas Motor Speedway

Post by itsjrd1964 »

7-Eleven has been named the official convenience store of Texas Motor Speedway. As a result, a new 5000 square foot 7-Eleven has opened as of late last month at TMS. No gas pumps will be available there. It is on Lone Star Circle just outside of Turn 3 and near the north tunnel entrance to the infield. The store is twice the size as a conventional 7-Eleven location, according to the article.

Should be very interesting at TMS for retail competition, with now-2 7-Elevens (the other is about a mile east on TX 114), a new QT, a Buc-ee's, as well as a couple of existing smaller convenience stores, all at that corner. They'll do well on race weekends, but day-to-day may be another story.

I would almost guarantee that it will only be open for race weekends. The location is too obscure to get anything but race weekend traffic.

There is a new GM at TMS, and he has big plans for the complex.

Lux hotels, a waterpark, commercial office space, retail space, product testing centers, and proving grounds—they’re all developments Ramage is considering for the TMS’ campus.

They should change the name to Fort Worth Motor Speedway.
