Norm Hitzges to retire from 1310-The Ticket

Postby itsjrd1964 » 19 Jun 2023 03:54

Norm Hitzges, a longtime fixture in Dallas media, including 23 years at The Ticket, has decided to call it a day. His regular appearances with a microphone and something to say about sports will end on Friday (June 23). Supposedly he will make cameos during drafts, as well as his yearly Normathon fundraisers for Austin Street Center, a local homeless shelter.

Bravo, Norm! You will be missed.

Sean Bass, who has spent almost as much time working for The Ticket as Norm has, puts a few words together on what it's been like to work with--and for--Norm.

Unpopular opinion: I've listened to 1310 since 1994. 11 - 2 was my favorite. I never liked Norm's shows since he took so long to get out what he was trying to say. Lots of words without saying much, talked too slow. I always had to change the channel. But his draft coverages, horse racing, and charity stuff were great.
