Cowboys Plan $295 Million AT&T Stadium Renovations

The team will be approaching the other 31 NFL teams to help pay for the work. This is likely a project the team wants completed before the stadium hosts the 2026 World Cup.

Wow, that's almost a quarter of what it took to build the thing in the first place and that was only in 2009.

"Concacaf Nations League Final will be played next year at AT&T Stadium"
The best national teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean will be at AT&T Stadium and Toyota Stadium in March of next year to define the champion of the third edition of the Concacaf Nations League (CNL).

Concacaf announced on Monday that the home of the Dallas Cowboys will host the tournament’s semifinals and final, while FC Dallas’s home will be the scene of the play-in matches.

While I do think this is happening, I'm waiting until it gets reported by a source better than The Sun before I get excited.

FIFA has not yet officially come out and announced where the Final will be played, nor where FIFA's operations or the global media center will be located.

It's looking like we will find out on Sunday if the world cup final is coming to Arlington. I will mournfully eat crow if we don't get it, but there's been too much smoke for too long. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it.

It's really only a loss locally if the teams from the US, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, or a few others make it to the final - and, it's not played local. Otherwise, the area is still hosting World Cup matches. It's all good. I'll be there, somehow.

Eh, let's b real nobody from around the globe wanna come here for a WC Final. The host city is much more important than the host venue. Mexico City and NYC were always options 1a and 1b.

I'll say the press conference we had after the reveal was so damn embarrassing lol. Like whose idea was it to round up Dirk, Emmitt, and all the mayors to give what they clearly thought was going to be an hour of self-congratulations.
I did feel optimistic about this, but whoever organized that really bought into the British tabloid rumors as pure fact. What they thought was going to be a party felt more like a post-game presser after a huge loss. It was embarrassing to watch.

Overall there wasn't a ton of new information to be gleaned from it. Arlington's mayor seemed super defensive. Jerry seemed the most disappointed of the bunch. Everyone else just seemed uncomfortable to be there.

The media center and the referee center still have not been decided on so that's still up for grabs. Dallas stands a good chance for either of them just because we provide the shortest flights to each venue which is an important factor for refs and media folk who need to constantly be bouncing around between the stadiums in such a small window of time.

But getting 9 games here is still cool as hell. The original economic impact projections were calculated with the idea of having 4 or 5 games happening here. Getting 9 is wild. As a huge soccer guy, having 9 games here within four weeks is going to be so damn fun.
