DFW: #1 Foodie Scene and #1 in Attracting Millenials (according to no-name sources)

Dallas, Texas, Is the 2019 Restaurant City of the Year

Dallas-Fort Worth No. 1 in Attracting Migrating Millennials, JLL Snapshot Reports
https://dallasinnovates.com/dallas-fort ... t-reports/

I came across these two articles that listed DFW as #1 as a foodie city and as a 'Millenial magnet'. Personally I don't really care too much for these articles, but I also know that, if enough of these articles are put out there putting DFW as #1, eventually perceptions of our metroplex begin to change.

This should really be no surprise to any of us here, as we have all known that DFW has a great food scene and DFW has had a huge influx of people for several years now. The thing I've noticed is that because Houston's food scene can sometimes get more publicity and Austin get's more publicity as being good for Millenial's, DFW tends to get overshadowed. I anticipate more and more positive publicity for DFW in the coming years and that might even finally start changing perceptions of the area.

I feel like the write-up in Bon Appetit is pretty substantial recognition, and well-deserved. Is Dallas the greatest food city in the country? No, but it is certainly an up-and-comer IMO, and it is cool to see some attention being paid.

Hopefully that will just continue to attract more people who are willing to create and take chances on food concepts, as opposed to the copy-and-paste steakhouse model of years past (which obviously still happens today).

It's nice to see the writer is someone who moved away from and was revisiting to rediscover Dallas as well. A local who has been away long enough to have a previous opinion to build from.

Study computes Dallas as top affordable city for tech workers

Most of us here already know DFW is a big tech city, but we don't really have that reputation to the rest of the country. More articles like these will slowly help change that perception.

For first time, Dallas makes list of Top 10 Vegan Cities in the U.S.
The No. 1 city on PETA's list is San Francisco. Rounding out the list are Los Angeles; New York City; Portland, Oregon; Detroit; Orlando, Florida; Nashville, Tennessee; Washington, D.C.; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

More positive exposure for our city, and will definitely help break the stereotype about Texas. I'm also pleasantly surprised to see Tulsa on that list as well. I've never actually been there, but I know people tend to stereotype this entire region of the country, so I'm glad to see Tulsa and DFW slowly changing that.
