The Dallas Symphony is making a generous offer to take the Meyerson off the city's hands

The Dallas Symphony Association wants to take on management/maintenance of the Symphony Center. There are apparently several issues with the building that need addressing and the City only has so much to spare for all its managed arts venues. The City has not yet voted to approve the proposal.

This is fantastic news! I don't go to the meyerson but once every year or so, but on my last visit a few months ago, it was a bit saddening to see it in it's current state. It is such a beautiful building, and all the water infiltration just seemed very out of place. I'll bet many don't even notice, but I always love to show up early, have a beer, and ogle at the architecture. After about ten minutes, you can easily see that the problems are significant.
Very glad to see something happening with this...
