KERA set to take on management of WRR

A pleasant surprise and one of the best possible outcomes. The City's Arts and Culture committee will vote Monday, followed by a City Council vote next month, to let KERA parent North Texas Public Broadcasting take on management of WRR 101.1 FM. In the agreement, the City will remain owner and for the next 7 years, WRR will remain at Fair Park.
While the article doesn't give specifics, it sounds like the next future step would be for North Texas Public Broadcasting to acquire WRR in full and move its operations in with those of KERA radio/TV and KKXT-FM. Either way, it sounds assured that classical fans in DFW won't lose WRR anytime soon.
