"We’re in the design process and are working with the city on documents for two high-rise towers. We had to scrap the last phase, which was already designed, as we have different partners and a different deal structure now," De La Vega said Wednesday.
The redesign is expected to include elements found in the original plans, in addition to changes relevant to a post-COVID-19 world. While the new plans will still include high-rise office and residential, retail and a public park, De La Vega said some of the buildings are being redesigned to include better air filtration systems, touchless technology and more natural light. He also emphasized a focus on health and wellness, starting with a proposed four-acre public park.

Leasing of the office tower is being handled by JLL. De La Vega is hoping an anchor tenant will be secured before the project is ready to break ground.
"Otherwise, it would be difficult to finance," he said.
