Things are not looking good for the local economy, I'm guessing we are just beginning to see the negative effects.

Sad news about Dallas Fish Market. On a walk yesterday, I noticed the same envelope containing a letter from the landlord that was posted on Fish Market's door was also posted to The Woolworth's door. The Woolworth's facebook page posted a month ago that they were looking to reopen in September. I'm hoping the letter wasn't an eviction but I'm fearing the worst.

I wonder if we'll see any of these closed restaurants as tenants in Discovery District's food hall?

Well AT&T has a hired operator for their food hall who is putting together most of the options in the AT&T food hall not just a leasing team like CBRE but more of a hospitality group that is creating many of the brands that will setup shop there. Who knows though they could have a spot to fill and maybe will want to hire some people who already know Downtown.

A SpringHill Suites down the service road from the hotel where I work, has been closed the whole time of the virus. Recently, after some online searching, I saw where that SpringHill is no longer on the local list of SpringHills on Marriott's website. The hotel's phone number that was listed, was called and found to be disconnected. One of the desk clerks at my hotel heard somewhere that the SpringHill's owners are looking for a buyer, but there's no "for sale/lease" sign out front. Even with the closure, the hotel has had it's parking lot lights on, so somebody's paying a light bill.

I haven't yet been able to see how many other local/area hotels are in this same situation.

Drove by Deep Ellum last night, and looks like Punch Bowl Social is open again.

Re-opened a couple weeks back. I walk by it frequently, and have seen almost zero customers in it.

They opened a month ago.. it was packed a couple nights ago when i drove by

Yeah, I saw an article saying they re-opened. I'm actually quite surprised, because I thought they were struggling even prior to COVID.

^ That's what I thought too. How unexpected but I'm glad they're back!
