Half Price Books, the nation’s largest family-owned bookstore chain, is breaking ground on a development plan that will bring new restaurant, retail and office space next to its flagship location on Northwest Highway in Dallas.
The company’s development subsidiary, BookMark LLC, wants to attract a 5,000-square-foot restaurant to the Shady Brook Lane site to join existing anchors REI and Starbucks. The restaurant also could contain 3,500 square feet of space for patio dining.
“We would love to have somebody that comes in that's kind of a Dallas-known entity or is new to the Dallas market,” said Kathy Doyle Thomas, Half Price Books executive vice president and chief strategy officer. “We're looking for a family-friendly restaurant.”
