They are done with floors but they are not done with the crown or the actual peak of the building. It's still going up, once they start assembling the structure on top we will start getting a better idea. I still have some confusion about how this building will actually look at the top when finished.

Its happening! The steel framing for the top portion of the tower is now being worked on!

This will be great fun to watch, thats going to add some significant height to this tower.

More steel framing progress. So close.

Saw some worker hanging from one of those metal pieces this morning. Right up near the top.

This tower looks awesome going up.

Hopefully some brave reporter will go up there and get some video or at least some good pictures.

AMLI Fountain Place Tower's crown top is looking to have made considerable progress.

I love how much height the "crown" adds!

I think the other end of the bldg may have an even taller crown if I’m looking at the renderings correctly.

The rendering had caused me some confusion and I wondered the same thing but that line appears to be straight at the top.

Ah...was thinking that could be the case as well.

The AMLI Tower's crown has added an impressive six stories to the building's final height.

Man this looks awesome, i maybe in the minority but i take it even over museum tower as my favorite skyscraper in dallas in long time.

They deserve praise for making an effort. It's not any kind of classic, but it's a positive step. When the Pegasus was put on top of the Magnolia Building, there were taller buildings in OKC, Houston, San Antonio and Tulsa, but it was still one of the world's 150 tallest.

The sky is getting higher. By the end of this year, a building will have to be above 1000' to be #150.
It feels like one that doesn't at least round up to a thousand (from about 500' or 150m on up) isn't remarkable enough to really bother calling a skyscraper anymore.

The AMLI and Museum Tower are the only skyscrapers in the running for favorite, then -- W Victory at 439' doesn't even round up to 500. If Harwood starts its office tower or the Lexi, either one of those would become North Texas' third 150m tower since 1990, and twenty-fifth all-time.


Edit: what could make AMLI a classic is if the enclosed crown (still a rarity in Texas, unlike in the Southeast) were a gigantic private sanctum accessed via secret bookshelf passageway from, like, not the penthouse apartments but an apartment *underneath* the penthouse level

My favorite aspect about this is that it locked in a permanent structure that compliments and continues the vision for this development. Imagine if something had been built next to the original tower that had nothing to do with that architecture and style.

No kidding... Remember when they announced a big box shaped parking garage for this lot a few years back?

The top crown section has been slow to complete but I noticed yesterday that the east top slanted section is now getting the glass installed. Looking good.

AMLI Fountain Place Tower's crown is starting to see some movement.

The crown is taking a long time. Just my observation. I am sure they have much going on that can't be seen but it is taking some time to complete.

Harwood is trying to prelease a 620' tower, but it is not under a crane like Flora&Olive or The Victor.

I hope this goes really well and have been fantasizing that the same set of people want to do it again at BofA on their empty lot and CityPlace (West of 75). Completing complimentary, but updated versions of their originally planned twins and adding residents and value to the current buildings all the while.
