Fort Worth: Quarry Falls

Postby quixomniac » 29 Jul 2019 18:49

I was hoping to find information about this development on here, but in case it hasn't been posted yet here it is.
An old rock quarry in Fort Worth is being transformed from a mining area into an development where residents can live and play.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported an 80-acre quarry site shuttered in the 1970s is being transformed in a project known as Quarry Falls. The area is located in northern Fort Worth, between Meecham Airport and Saginaw, and is accessible by Old Decatur Road.

Construction, which could cost up to $280 million, is set to begin later this year and will likely take three to four years to complete, the Star-Telegram said.

Once finished, Quarry Falls will include condominiums, apartments, two hotels totaling 300 rooms, a conference center and a 3,500-seat music venue surrounding a lake with a beach, water park and 135-foot Ferris wheel.

Restaurants and bars are also planned for Quarry Falls.
