"We are just getting ready to start construction," said builder Neil Blanchard. "It's a beautiful modern development — the only project in Dallas with a real view of the lake and downtown."
The apartments will range in size from 1,000 to more than 2,000 square feet.
"It's going to be very high-end residences," Blanchard said. "It will be a combination of for lease and some for sale.
"It's got some really cool amenities — a garden room, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and bike storage."
Moss Construction is building the project, which should open late next year. GDA Architects designed the building.

Looks nice. Does anyone know the exact site at Coronado and East Grand where this will be built?

I'm surprised we haven't seen more mid and high rise development near White Rock considering the views that the lake offers. For example, there's a self storage facility site right south of the spillway on Winsted that would offer gorgeous views for a condo high-rise. It would view both the lake and the Arboretum.

Answer: NIMBY's
It's beyond ridiculous that self storage, liquor stores, gas stations are ok.
But anything high density is blasphemy.
Why is it so hard to build in Dallas?
One thing you hear too often in Dallas is that it’s hard to do business — especially the business of building Dallas. It’s hard to get permits. It’s hard to get inspections. It’s hard to get hearings. It’s hard to get approval if you get a hearing. Every step of the process is a struggle. We watched this unfold in recent weeks with a plainly beneficial and important development called The Trailhead, along Grand Avenue near White Rock Lake. The mixed-use project does just about everything you could ask of a good development. It provides affordable housing. It creates a pedestrian link to the Santa Fe Trail. It mixes residential and retail uses. It is exactly the sort of forward-looking project that creates much-needed housing supply in a city desperate for more housing at every income level. And it does it in a way that encourages greater density and moves the city forward on reducing car dependence. This being Dallas, it almost didn’t happen. And that needs to change...
