I think they just holdout spots on level 1. The other two floors are pretty solid.

Speaking of 1st floor... Brahmin, Morphe and that sweet shop (where Godiva was) are now gone.

So did the art gallery next to Apple.

I feel like it's important that I add this-
Many of the "luxury" stores at the Galleria have been modified or scaled back to fit a more "mid-tier" appeal. For Example,
-Club Monaco only carries women's clothing
-Louis Vuitton only carries handbags and eyewear
-Nordstrom does not have a Collectors section, and the nicest brands I saw when I was there were Tory Burch, Weekend MaxMara, Golden Goose, and Vince. They have also downsized to only two levels.
-Tiffany & Co. only carries "trademark accessories" meaning, they only really get stock of things in the $100-$500 price range, and nicer things are available, but really only on request, and they aren't usually out for display.
-Gregory's does not sell any of the same things they did at Northpark, and brands like Gucci, Jimmy Choo, and Christian Louboutin have yet to be sold here.

That Brahmin was the only one in DFW, BTW. So they left the market entirely. Houston, Charlotte and Atlanta still have their stores.

EDIT: In the case of Morphe, they closed all of their stores across the US.

EDIT 2: And the Martin Lawrence Galleries was the only location in Texas. DFW is such a weird luxury retail market....

So, they'll accept the downspace while they regroup.

Great American Cookies is not new (but a relocation), and we already knew about Banter, Bonsai and the Bachendorf expansion.

What the heck is a Tipsy Top Shoes?

So, as confirmed, both of the Nestle Tollhouse locations were changed to Great American Cookies.

The escalators by Zara on the first floor are closed due to maintenance.

As for the Nordstrom, they've moved the Marketplace Cafe to the second floor, but it's just a gated area in the middle of the sales floor, with them still using the kitchen on the third floor (which is now entirely wallboard off, with only a door for employees only to access the kitchen). I don't recall seeing any designer brands, so this Nordstrom seems to be more on par with the Stonebriar and now-closed North East locations.

As for the NorthPark Nordstrom, I noticed it is no longer listed as a location hosting Pop-In by Nordstrom.

H&M is opening a home storefront. I'm liking the direction the Galleria is finally going in. I hope that they can get the remodel of the center underway. I think that will give it an even bigger shot in the arm.

Are they expanding into the Abercrombie space? Or is it opening in the old Pottery Barn?

Is Abercrombie closing their store? I like it more here than the one at NorthPark so I’d hope not! Maybe they can take the old True Religion store.

I find it strange whenever mall websites put stores as "coming soon," even though permits haven't been filed yet to start construction. The only other H&M Home store I know of is at Beachwood Place in Ohio. It's in a similar boat as the Galleria- It's a high end mall with tons of vacancies. It's not as upscale as the Galleria though, because their nicest stores are Coach and Kate Spade. It does have nicer anchors though, the Nordstrom is fully operational, and the Saks is still open.

Me too. The only thing I could expect is a relocation to the first floor with a redesigned storefront, but I love their classic storefront in comparison to the newer ones like at NorthPark.

The one at Northpark looks awful. I've seen temporary stores that look better than it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just a temporary store, for a “new concept” kind of store it just screams pop-up shop.

That's what it appears to be. Perhaps the old J.Crew spot will be included to make a larger store.

Another huge blow to the Galleria...

American Girl plans to exit Galleria Dallas and open in Shops at Park Lane

https://www.dallasnews.com/business/ret ... =linkedin_

American Girl is planning a big move in Dallas out of the Galleria and into the Shops at Park Lane next year.

The popular and pricey doll brand has plans to open a 15,400-square-foot, two-level store at The Shops at Park Lane, according to planning documents filed with the state. The cost of the project is estimated to be $9 million and construction would begin in August and end in late January.

That was a wonderful space, and honestly a place a lot of people come to the Galleria just to go to. I’m just glad they’re staying in Dallas, and not going somewhere like Frisco. Park Lane seems nice considering its proximity to NorthPark.
As for the Galleria, I hope they have good plans to make use of the space. It’s a major blow that they lost Belk, 1/3 of Nordstrom, and now American Girl within recent years.

They permanently closed their Memorial City store recently, too, so it’s good they’re not entirely abandoning Dallas.

FWIW, this will be a significant down-sizing as well. The current store is 22,500 square feet.

Tons of Galleria traffic comes from American Girl. Most families inside the mall have AG shopping bags with them. This is going to be awful for the mall's traffic.

The Galleria, Willow Bend, and North East are easily the three malls that have been in rapid decline within the past few years. Crowds at The Galleria are quite comparable to those of Willow Bend, with the exception being during the holidays. Aside from the holiday attractions, the hotel, the Apple store, and the office buildings are all the Galleria really has going for it now.

I hope the remaining designer stores in The Galleria could relocate elsewhere in Dallas. It would be neat to have Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Tiffany’s located in Uptown or Downtown to compliment the offerings of Neiman Marcus, Forty Five Ten, and Stanley Korshack, along with all of the new upscale hotels (JW Marriott, Hall Arts). I’d love to see a revitalisation of Downtown Dallas that includes more retail on Main Street, or for those shops to open on the walkable street of the Arts District or in the Crescent

Speaking of Park Lane, I hope more normal mall stores that aren’t upscale enough for NorthPark continue to open there. I’d love to see Hollister, H&M, and Miss A there to name a few!

Brahmin is widely available in Macy’s and Dillards, and is probably lower tier than Coach or Michael Kors. That said, it’s definitely a NorthPark type of store considering that was their only Texas location. Sad that they didn’t relocate, it seems like it would do well in one of those spaces near Victorias Secret there.

The Galleria is quickly becoming just a business park with a hotel component. Time to redevelop all the way from tollway to Preston and make it one cohesive area.

No it's not. It's pretty easy to walk around Willow Bend and have an entire wing to yourself, even on the weekends. Galleria is not yet like that, not even close.

A weekday at the Galleria is comparable to a weekend at Willow Bend. There’s still people, but it’s relatively thin crowds. I go to both regularly.

I would even say that, even on weekdays, I am relatively surprised by the amount of people I see at Willow Bend. Of course, a good amount are mall walkers or customers of the few upscale stores that are left there, but it’s still surprising nonetheless.

Last time I was at Willow Bend it was a weekday, and there were still people there, although a thin crowd. The H&M was pretty busy, but that is likely due to having Stonebriar closed due to renovation, and Allen closed along with the outlet mall.

Right, it’s located in the City Center.
Most of their locations are in the South, such as Memphis, Atlanta, etc; so I do wonder if they’d plan to return to Dallas in a different location.

Major white elephants don’t have to pose an obstacle to neighborhood redevelopment. See the Cedars’ Southside on Lamar or the Montgomery Plaza in DTFW.

Also Ponce City Market in Atlanta, the Merchandise Mart or the Old Post Office* in Chicago, POST HTX in Houston, Crosstown Concourse in Memphis, Crosstown Concourse in Minneapolis, and so on. Arguably lenders, like hermit crabs, should jump at the chance to see Dallas’ Galleria as a much more viable similar shell. The hard sell is just that McKinney / Frisco / Prosper / Aubrey is the brittle, fast-growing investment while Knox / Park Cities is the blue chip, high stakes investment, and those have natural investor constituencies, whereas there is less of one for a middle class destination (everything from the Mid Cities to Addison to North Dallas to Richardson and Garland that were once the brittle, fast-growing investments).

Agreed, but also, American Girl (being a destination store) did bring a lot of shoppers to the Galleria that otherwise wouldn't go there, and it's clear that the Galleria at this point is on a slow but steady downward spiral. Even Stonebriar is much busier these days.

As someone who lives in the area, my fear is that its decline, along with the other stalled (Alpha West, Valley View, etc.) or slow moving (Silver Line) projects will slowly bring the rest of the area (which has mostly held up so far) down with it if something isn't done fast to help rejuvenate things.

Also, American Girl was on a lease that pre-dated Saks' departure.

So it begs the question, how many other places in the Galleria that opened pre-Saks departure are only biding time until their lease expiration...

Louis Vuitton’s expansion was pretty curious to me, but I do still hope the remaining luxury tenants move towards Uptown (like Knox or West Village), or Downtown once their leases expire.

Has it ever been confirmed that LV is expanding? Agree even a remodel seems curious.

There were TDLR permits someone posted a while back.

Pretty sure that permit specified it was for LV’s temporary store, which suggests to me they may just be remodeling their current location.

Thank you. For the record, that permit for the "main store" had not been previously posted here. So, LV will apparently be 6,337 square feet. Bigger than their new Legacy West store! Interesting. Do we know how big their Galleria store was previously?
