Re: Mid Elm Lofts
They built a lot of stuff on top. I wonder if it's all resident-driven amenities now or also access is allowed from any ground floor tenants. Obviously, it took a lot of work on emergency access improvements because that's what held the city back from approving the use of these buildings above the ground floor for decades.

Sweet rooftop patio!

Looks like the sidewalk may be opening soon.

I'm amazed at how well this looks. Too bad there isn't more of this all over the CBD.

It's a stunning improvement. Hope this helps set a new standard for future projects. I have not been up close but it just looks like the attention to detail, colors, materials and lighting have all been really good.
Re: Mid Elm Lofts
These are gorgeous! I honestly feel like there will be a lot of activity around here, once the new retail opens up here. From what I've seen, Main street seems to be decently lively on a regular basis, and, once word gets out that some new places opened up a block over, I can see a lot more traffic in evenings and weekends.
Re: Mid Elm Lofts
Beautiful! Seems worth the wait. There's many of these type of buildings sitting underutilized in the East Quarter, surrounded by vacant land ready for infill. I hope that the East Quarter developers take as much care in restoring their buildings. There's a lot of potential over there unless they decide to stick with surface parking lots.

Damn. I'm loving the sidewalk width. Not quite as wide as here in AMS, but it's a huge improvement, relatively speaking.

Awe... Amsterdam, what a great city. I am envious.
Re: Mid Elm Lofts
@Matt777 You're right. East Quarter does have a lot of this same style of buildings. West End should be like this too.

I am envious of Dallas's housing supply. It's just a travesty over here, especially for those looking for student housing.

Still more delays for this project. I remember City Tavern was supposed to open up here in June. It is now set to open at the end of September or early October, according to this article:

City Tavern’s landlord, who also owns The Mitchell bar next door, wanted to open his own concept in the space.
^^^ This excites me! Glad to see something else is already in store for the old City Tavern place. Curious to see where it goes! But, new blood is always good.

Re: Mid Elm Lofts
I was a little concerned when I read that City Tavern would only take up the street level, thinking the basement would go unused. Then I looked up the leasing brochure and realized that 1512 Elm doesn't have a leasable basement level like 1514 and 1516 Elm. Hopefully whatever takes those spaces makes full use of both levels.
BTW, 1516 Elm is pretty massive with a 4,149 sf street level and 3,866 sf basement.

This entire project has been moving at an extremely slow pace, so I can stomach a few more weeks. I still haven't checked this development out in person, but, from what I am seeing, I am extremely pleased with the end result. Once all the retail gets filled up, this will generate a decent amount of activity here.
Re: Mid Elm Lofts
I go every week to check on the status. Can't wait for the sidewalk to be reopened.

The closed sidewalks for so long has been the biggest annoyance.

Checked these out over the weekend. Sidewalk is now open. The interior shot is of the building next to Campisi's.

Having visited earlier this week, I am happy to report that the service and food were excellent. Draught beer selection is still being on-boarded, but the place was still quite busy mid-week.

The property flyer on CBRE's website shows another retail space is leased; one with a rooftop terrace.
Any intel on the forums on the tenant?

Re: Mid Elm Lofts
I didn't see any activity on the street level of this one, but looks like a sky bar/bistro will be on the rooftop.

Sky Blossom is soft opening on September 17.

Re: Mid Elm Lofts
Thanks for the heads up! I have a prior engagement, but I really want to try and make it to this.
Re: Mid Elm Lofts
So it turns out there was no soft opening today, and the place is still not open. I'm guessing the soft opening date was delayed at some point.
No big deal, I ended up checking out the Woolworth for the first time and had a good time there.

Re: Mid Elm Lofts
This was just posted to their Facebook page yesterday, so it's likely accurate this time around. I'm guessing that previous soft opening date was probably posted a while ago and they ended up getting slightly delayed.

Got a glimpse of the interior work being done on the building farthest east at Mid Elm Lofts. Finish out looks really nice.
