Sandro and Maje are both hiring SA/Manager for new Northpark boutique openings according to their sites. I would expect official store opening announcements to come soon, now just to contemplate where they will open....

@R0170 No info on Joie did you hear something?

No, but that’s another I’d expect to enter the market soon.

I didn’t know Tahari closed their store!

Also possibly the current Stuart Weitzman once they move closer to Nordstrom.

@R0170 I didn't know either! News to me...

The new maps reflect that Eataly is indeed taking the first floor previous Stuart Weitzman.

Versace is also moving I wonder if Eataly will be taking this space as well...

Maje is in fact opening in the previous Swag space. The new Stuart Weitzman is very nice and ruti appears to be gone.

Montblanc is moving into the previous ruti space. This will open up that space for LV to expand their store to a global store.

It seems like they would need the Blvgari space to truly expand. But maybe the plan is to keep the men’s store separate. They have begun opening men’s stand alone locations in other cities.

Yea, I imagine there would be an in store entrance and a storefront entrance for the men’s space.

My AMEX offers when I log in are catered to my zip code (Al Biernats, Paul Martin, etc) and what is interesting is that Maje, Sandro and Joie all show up as of this week. Seems the Joie Dallas location is imminent.

Eh, I've been hitting Amex offers for years now and Sandro and Maje appeared on my cards when I lived in Boston and when I lived in rural Virginia. Some local offers certainly do appear on the cards (restaurants in particular, with increasing frequency/accuracy) but overall the Amex offer algorithm is pretty imprecise.

Also, yes Joie is relevant! I just bought a dress the other week.

Joie is as relevant as Draper James a Department store filler or dude. Btw
Your Amex paragraph made no sebse lol

"Joie is as relevant as Draper James a Department store filler or dude."

This sentence is too garbled to fully understand. It's missing a few commas and end punctuation. However, I think you're declaring yourself the arbiter of taste in luxury women's fashion. If so, well, then go off, dude. By all means, buy your dresses somewhere more relevant.

And what about my Amex paragraph didn't make "sebse"? Do you know what Amex Offers are? They're limited-time discounts which appear on certain varieties of Amex cards, for certain people, at certain times. Some of them are relatively universal; others are targeted--but targeted badly, since you can receive an in-store only offer at a store that has no physical presence in your city. Some examples are Joie, Sandro, Maje, Johnny Was, etc. I was targeted for these stores at a time in my life when I had no access to them. Now I live in Dallas, where many of them do have a physical presence. The Amex algorithm which determines who gets what offer is improving, but still imperfect. Thus, we cannot always assume a store like Joie is on the way in Dallas, just because it appears in Amex offers for Dallas residents.

That's what we were discussing. How about we keep the tone around here friendly and convivial, instead of knee-jerk dismissive and condescending? It's okay (and more effective) to ask for clarification when you don't understand something. lol, lol.

SAVANNAH BEE COMPANY - OPENING FALL 2019

"In 2002, founder Ted Dennard created Savannah Bee Company out of his passion for honeybees and desire to support beekeepers around the world. In addition to its original and most popular product, Tupelo Honey, Savannah Bee Company's expansive product offerings include specialty honeys and honeycomb, artisanal food and beverages, body care products featuring hive ingredients, and home goods. Outside of Savannah Bee’s main hive in Wilmington Island, Georgia, the company’s worker bees have spread their wings across the U.S. with 15 retail locations. Dennard also helped to launch The Bee Cause Project, a non-profit which has provided observation hives for 445 schools in 50 states and four countries around the world with the goal of educating the next generation about the importance of the honeybee population."

I know this was a joke, but arcades are coming back, but not the '80s-90s form with coin-op games, but rather Esports computer terminals for drop-in/quasi-competitive game playing. They have so far been onesy-twosey setups in strip malls around the metro, but a big name is going into Willow Bend Mall in Plano, and I'd imagine that maybe The Galleria next and then NorthPark. I'd bet the eventual NorthPark arcade will be a competitive team playing there primarly, rather than primarily drop ins.

The parking area outside of Eataly appears quite active so I’m assuming the build out is well underway. The new Versace space looks really nice. Zimmerman is taking their space. Some of the other empty spaces still don’t have build out so would assume they are being held for 2020 openings like Billy Reid.

Sandro is open and looking good. The new Mont Blanc space is supposed to open this month.

Isabel Marant and Golden Goose shouldn’t be far behind if not earlier.

I’m not sure when the new Fresh location is expected to open. Has anyone heard?

The new Johnston & Murphy should open before year’s end.

I wonder if Billy Reid will be taking the current J&M spot or if something else is moving in there to make room for Billy Reid. Has anyone heard?

I think another Northpark expansion is just a huge fairytale. They've been teasing us with it since at least 2006. It's a shame too, this mall really has the potential to be like Westfield Century City in LA. They have the space in their parking lots to do a huge open air expansion (and they've even made plans with architects for this and never acted on it). I don't understand either why they just haven't acted on it. There really is so much potential here. I have to assume that the family is just content with collecting their rent checks and living their lives.

Re: Northpark Center

Posted: 12 Oct 2019 12:29

It will probably happen when the family feels like the NorthParks supreme position as the exclusive shopping destination in North Texas is threatened. You may disagree with the title but they certainly feel like they are still the queen bee. The Galleria isnt a threat and Midtowns lack of progress hasn't helped either. Sure there are things like Legacy but they aren't really competing with Shopping destinations like NorthPark. Even Highland Park village which shares some DNA isn't a competitor either.
