Crescent Communities eyeing Dallas tract for 20-story tower

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Crescent Communities...has been eyeing a tract of land adjacent to the newly completed Frost Tower near Victory Park.

The site — which is about three-quarters of an acre — at 2007 Randall Street is bound by the McKinnon, Randall and Harwood streets in the Harwood District.

I realize this story is almost a year old, but I don't think we had seen a rendering yet. I found this on the Viewtech, Inc. site: http://www.vtinc.net/structural-portfolio.htm

This would be great in that spot, but I swear I saw a development sign on this site along McKinnon that showed some type of small lowrise building going on it. I think that would be a waste of space as this 20 story building would be a much better use of that land. Does anyone have confirmation on what is expected to be built there?

Honestly, this looks like a place holder render. I suspect this is not the final iteration as it Doesn't even have color distinct between balconies and the exterior.

And for a project in hardwood.. I'm unimpressed.. I feel like we have 20 of these buildings with the exact same design already.

What this area really needs is influx of retil that draws people in. I Can't tell if that is retail or not in the bottom. It'll be hard to get that area alive though. McKinnon is a complete Dead zone, the 6 lane one-way road is so unwelcoming
...It has to change.

Hopefully this a start of hardwood becoming more pedestrian oriented and less corporate parkway.

^It's a tad plain, hope it evolves a bit.

I saw the same rendering and it looks more like a remodel of the building that is already there. Said something like "single tenant" and small number of square feet.
