I know they’re adding frontage roads along 20 so people will be able to access RedBird from 20 for the first time. It’s crazy how something as simple as that never existed before. But I agree, upgrades are need a long that corridor as well.

RedBird developers seek new investors in Dallas mall redo project
Owners of the successful 100-acre mixed-use project are seeking new partners to fund the development.

RedBird’s owners are now seeking an outside investor to help them add to the project. They’ve hired commercial property firm Jones Lang LaSalle to “arrange structured equity from a third-party investor to recapitalize the current partnership and fund future growth opportunities.”

“With 33 acres of development-ready parcels, RedBird offers multiple opportunities for new, ground-up development,” said JLL’s marketing pitch to potential investors. “Discussions are currently ongoing involving such projects as a grocery-anchored center; another retail center anchored by a successful discount clothing chain and a hotel.

They just keep rolling on with this one. Be nice when they run out of space to convert into office space and have to build new. I know he wants to eventually do that.

Funny that Tom Thumb will have its own Starbucks.
There will be more Starbucks in Redbird than in all the rest of Oak Cliff.

Chick-fil-A chooses RedBird mall in Dallas for its 3,000th restaurant
To commemorate the opening, the chain will make donations to fight food insecurity in the area.

This makes it sound like the location is inside the mall but google map shows it is a pad site fronting Camp Wisdom.

Chick-fil-A came to southern Dallas to open its 3,000th restaurant, and to celebrate it, the chain will be doing several things to help the community.

The restaurant’s new location opens Nov. 9, 2023 at 3502 W. Camp Wisdom Road, inside The Shops at RedBird shopping center. It will be open for dine-in, self-service and takeout from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Is the actual mall itself still dead? Everything I’ve read about it seems to be going on on the outside but not much on the inside.

No not entirely, there is only retail on the ground floor on the east wing, the west wing is basically closed and the upstairs is all being adapted for other uses like the entrepreneur center and a Dallas College center. There seem to be a lot of shoe stores and some clothing stores in there which get local business so they do well as far as I can tell. The inside has not been remodeled yet but that is supposed to be on the agenda.

RedBird mall redevelopment flies into new phase, prepares to welcome Tom Thumb
Developer also seeking office tenants in difficult market

https://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news ... 3#cxrecs_s

With the lease finalized, the developers have moved into the design phase for the 50,000-square-foot Tom Thumb. Construction is anticipated to begin before the end of the year following a six-month design process and permitting, Brodsky said. Dallas City Council last year approved a $5.8 million incentives package for the store. The Tom Thumb will be located at the southeast corner of Camp Wisdom and Westmoreland roads and create a minimum of 90 jobs.

The developers also plan to commence renovations on the west side of the mall, which will house Dallas nonprofit Vogel’s 15,000-square-foot child care facility and additional tenants such as a gym and salon suite. Work on the west side will include a new façade with windows and storefronts, allowing for exterior-facing business, as well as office space on the second floor.
