Luxury $125M women's hospital to be delivered to Medical City Dallas in 2018

The $125 million expansion will add five full floors to the existing Tower D on Medical City Dallas' campus, which will boost the women's hospital from 144 beds to 222 beds, which will boost its capacity by about 50 percent.

In all, the expansion will add 24 labor and delivery rooms, four C-section operating rooms, 84 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit rooms and numerous other rooms focused on women's health and delivery.

The expansion also adds two floors of physician offices, which will allow patients easy access to medical specialists and experts under the same roof.

This adds to Medical City Dallas' 796-bed, 1 million-square-foot hospital campus, which unveiled a new cafeteria with organic and farm-to-table cooking as well as a new inpatient rehabilitation unit in Tower E.

Construction is slated for completion in March 2018 with additional patient rooms slated to open through the following month.

I've seen that DBJ article for a day or two, but I wouldn't read it because I wanted to think about what makes it "Luxury."

My wife had babies in MedicalCity and UT Southwest St Paul, and compared to St Paul, Medical City was total luxury in almost every way -not just the building but also philosophy, parking, etc.
