Developers planning a new downtown Dallas luxury hotel are moving ahead with plans to start the project.
Plano-based Sam Moon Group plans to build the 283-room JW Marriott hotel on Ross Avenue across the street from the Trammell Crow Center office skyscraper.
Plans for the 15-story luxury hotel – to be built on top of a new 10-story parking garage at Ross and Harwood Street – were announced last fall.

Up until now everything apartment residential in the CBD has been old building conversions. I mean we are basically out of buildings to convert to residential unless one of the existing office buildings unexpectedly closes and becomes a candidate.

I don't know if I read that anywhere, but that has been my assumption all along. Glad to see the hotel portion moving forward though!
