I remember the 1 story retail building next to Polsinelli tower on Mckinnon was supposed to be torn down for residential. It's funny that nothing never happened there, but this is popping up.
It will be 5,000 spot parking garage fat butt with a skinny box on top with blue glass what's to be surprised about. They will hire a world renown architect to redesign what they have already built 12 times already and they will claim its the most mixed use walkable community in all of the world.

I really don't understand all the Harwood hate on here?? As far as I can tell, they're one of the few developers getting ANYTHING done in this city. And as far as design goes, IMO they're more creative than 95% of other developments going up or even proposed. I know I'm in the minority but I actually tend to like most of their buildings. And they've added a number of restaurants to make the area more attractive (Saint Anne, Happiest Hour etc...). Is it perfect? No! But what other developer is building this number of buildings and putting $$ and thought into creating their own restaurant spaces. Their model is clearly successful and they tend to lease space rather quickly.
Its so dumb, we have so much loser group think on here, harwood puts out quality designs and delivers on almost all rumored projects, but people on here expect frank gehry buildings for every project in dallas
I just want a 1000 FT + building. At this point idc what it looks like.
I will be nice to have something bigger than 500 though. I hope all these new/proposed hotels and residential buildings keep coming. The more people downtown..ish the better imo.

Well hate to break the bad news to you but if you want a possible 1,000+ foot tower you might want to head to Austin. They are killing it with skyscrapers and they are getting taller and taller.

It's true that Austin is building taller buildings, but they don't have the FAA using height restrictions on a lot of the Downtown area due to air traffic from a major airport.

True & also they don't have as many employment centers/suburb competition like dfw that their downtown has to compete with unlike dallas.

Tesla just announced they're moving their HQ to Austin. They're winning big down there. Dallas just taking what it can get at this point.

I consider Harwood a mixed bag, some of their projects deliver and some less so but you are correct they do deliver. Azure is nice, so is Rolex but St Anne disappointed. If they put up something that tall I'd be thrilled. Let's see what they propose.
hahaha so predictable.... just like my snarky reply:
Presuming Tesla switches to an address inside the Austin City Limits, it'll be neat to have at least one Fortune 500 company calling Austin home again.
I wonder if building a skyscraper next to that TV broadcasting antenna across the street would cause it stop being useful. Assuming they even use that anymore.
Hmm... What do y'all think about Harwood having "proposed" multiple 400-500 ft. towers now? I know this isn't a formal proposal, but Harwood #__ was supposed to be the 400-500 ft. office tower, correct? Obviously, that didn't pan out or is still on hold (multiple Harwood towers in limbo it seems so I get them confused)... But it seems they REALLY want to get something bigger off the ground, maybe to cap off the district?
Let's hope this is residential, or even mixed-use. At the very least some good ground-floor stuff with underground parking? Unlikely, but hey, I'm excited to see what happens here.
Harwood Intl proposes, sees if they can get some bites and then if the bites never turn into signed agreements they just quietly propose something else. Its the pattern of life for the Harwood District.
