I notice that of the top fifty metropolitan statistical areas, 19 are in the Sunbelt South.
Five are large:

DFW = $ 511.6 billion/yr
D.C. = $ 509.2 billion/yr
Hou = $ 478.6 billion/yr
ATL = $ 363.8 billion/yr
MIA = $ 328.5 billion/yr

The sixth is already just half the size of the fifth MSA:

Charlotte = $ 163.6 billion/yr

Here are the others:

24 Tampa ... 142,633,000,000
27 Austin ... 135,010
32 Orlando ... 126,797
33 Nashville ... 124,243
35 San Antonio ... 116,538
39 Hampton Roads ... 92,827
42 Richmond ... 80,702
44 Raleigh (no Durham) ... 79,843
45 New Orleans ... 77,163
46 Louisville ... 74,968
47 Jacksonville ... 71,471
48 Memphis ... 71,450
