Arlington: Six Flags

Postby itsjrd1964 » 31 Aug 2018 13:28

A new ride is coming to Six Flags. The Lone Star Revolution will have a 100-foot tall loop. The article claims it will be the world's largest. Nothing is said about where the ride will be placed in the park, or if any existing rides will be removed to make way for the Lone Star Revolution ride. The roller coaster will be ready and open in the spring of next year.

Lone Star Revolution will be located in the Tower section of the park and will make its debut in late spring 2019.

It is going in near the Tower of Power Superman Ride. Where currently a kid boat ride is located I forget what it is called right now.

That Superman ride is lame. G-Force much better.

I'm surprised Arlington hasn't proposed a giant ferris wheel, seems right up their Alley.

Six Flags Over Texas Announces ‘Pirates of Speelunker Cave’ Ride
Re-imagined, Adventurous Boat Ride Second Major Attraction Announced for 2022
Pirates of Speelunker Cave is a re-imagining of one of the park’s first attractions, The Cave, that operated from 1964 until 1991 and will replace the current version of the attraction—Yosemite Sam and the Gold River Adventure. The Cave featured original characters called Speelunkers that were created exclusively for Six Flags Over Texas.

The park just doesn't get the upkeep budget it deserves for being the original park. It's been falling apart for decades and looks worse year after year. Other Six Flags parks get far more attention and investment from the company than this one does.

This is the first news that has gotten me to raise an eyebrow because it hints at a very different mindset at the company than what has traditionally dominated the park. Instead of putting another Looney Tunes or DC Comics overlay they're actually pulling from--and spending money on--their own original history.
