There are many lakes in the area, and another is on the way. Originally the Lower Bois d'Arc Creek Reservoir, North Texas Municipal Lake recently had a groundbreaking. The lake will be in Fannin County northeast of Bonham, and is due to be complete in 5 years.

Even with the project getting approved and begun, some still want to sue to stop it.

They must be doing some super long term planning for this lake since we still have two untapped lakes that are considered part of the Dallas Water Supply. Lake Fork and Lake Palestine.

Yep, there are two camps here. Dallas water supply and the North Texas Water District which the suburbs are members of. I think whats more important is they intend for the lake to be named "North Texas Water District Lake" in honor of the district's long history? Yeah, I guarantee no one will be saying lets all head out to the North Texas Water District Lake. I'll just call it Fannin Lake.

Lake Ralph Hall (named for the long-time area congressman), is on track for completion by 2025; it will be on the North Sulphur River near Commerce.

(This isn't the same lake as North Texas Municipal Lake, a different project northeast of Bonham.)
