On Saturday, a new statue will be dedicated. The figure is of the late Santos Rodriguez, who was shot and killed by a Dallas PD officer when he was only 13. It will be located in Pike Park (where Santos would often play), adjacent to Santos Rodriguez Recreation Center. The video in the Ch.5 story says that Santos' mother added a thumbprint onto one of the hands of the statue, which will always link Santos and his mother in memory.

The statue of Santos was dedicated Saturday. Mayor Eric Johnson and Santos' mother, Bessie, were among many who were in attendance at the ceremony.
