Arlington: I-30/TX 360 interchange redo
Posted: 08 Nov 2018 22:44
The current layout of the I-30/TX 360 interchange is up to now, still a throwback to the days of the DFW Turnpike with an indirect connection between the 2 highways. That indirect connection was where the tollbooths were prior to the tolls going away in 1978 and the eventually-free highway becoming part of I-30. Amazingly, it has taken 40 years to get priorities (and funding) in order so that, finally, a full, direct interchange will connect I-30 to TX 360. According to the video at the linkie, it will be 2021 before the construction is complete.
As a part of the project to redo the interchange, a detour to traffic on I-30 will be necessary this weekend. The southbound TX 360 service road bridge will be torn down (because a new version has replaced it) over I-30. The detour will include TX 161-Bush Turnpike, TX 180 (Division St.), and FM 157 (Collins St.). The detour/closure will start Friday night at 7pm, and go to Monday morning at 5am.

At least there won't be a home Cowboys game this weekend to make traffic even more interesting in Arlington.
