The City's transportation department director gave a recent update about traffic signal counts and conditions to the City Council. He wants to get upwards of 100 signals installed in the next 3 years (no specifics as to how many are brand new, or are replacements for existing signals).

A chart is included in the article about how many signalized intersections are in each Council district, and the age ranges of each. It costs $350,000 for new signals for each intersection. There are 1426 signalized intersections in Dallas currently.

So basically half of the traffic signals in Dallas were installed before 1980.

^Based on how many times they are out at the drop of a hat I am not surprised.

I'm surprised by this given how Car centric the city is. Dallas not even good at being Unwalkable. Lol
