Google Maps' built-in transit layer was never really enough for me. So over the past few months, I've built a few detailed Dallas rail transit maps. I thought you guys might enjoy them and that they might complement the excellent urban development maps maintained by some of the people here. Feel free to send corrections if you spot any errors. Here's to cramming our Google Earth installations with as much information as humanly possible!
Existing Dallas rail transit:
DART rail, TRE, A-Train, TEXRail, streetcars, and Las Colinas APT
Future Dallas rail transit:
Silver Line, D2 Subway, streetcar extensions, A-Train extension, TEXRail SW, deferred stations
TEXRail standalone:
Existing TEXRail, TEXRail SW, deferred/removed stations, and the passed-over Northside alignment
Texas Central Railway (Dallas-Houston High Speed Rail):
Route and rough station layouts

Re: DFW rail transit maps
Looking Good! The only error I can find is that on the future transit map, you didn't put the 1700 Pacific station in the right spot (...at 1700 Pacific).
To be honest, I've been meaning to eventually get around to making a thread like this, although my maps are usually reconstructions of past systems or speculations of potential future ones. Some examples:
Collin County Line (from Plano to McKinney)
Frisco Line (Dallas and/or Irving to Legacy and/or Frisco)
1966 Dallas Rail Transit Plan (based off an old map I probably found on the old forum; could use some further touching up)
I could go on, I literally have more than a hundred maps like these or ones based on old railways or streetcar systems.

Thanks! And oops, fixed

Very nice! The Frisco line looks like an extended version of the Legacy corridor DART has proposed. I'd love to know more about that 1966 study - so much has changed since then, but it still seems a little more thoughtful than what was ultimately built.

It would be nice to have a unified thread for maps. It could connect a lot of disparate information and help people avoid duplicating work others had already done. I'm not sure where it would go or how it would be organized, though, since I'm new here.
