Re: Bishop Arts
Bishop Arts (Exxir/Nazerian) project looks to have started for real this time. Assume this is a first phase, like the Melba Mercado depicted in renderings, that isn't dependent on the hotel being approved. https://scontent-dft4-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/15896042_549461458596325_6077751983446711497_o....

Very odd that they face the deadest part of the site, and ignore the plaza and Houston St where the action is. I bet whoever designed this did not even bother to visit the location. I don't hate that it faces Record, which is much more pedestrian friendly than Houston, but the surface parking along...

I'm shocked that GNC and Gamestop can still afford space at NorthPark. They must be grandfathered on that level somehow.

Wow, that is certainly different especially standing next to La Quinta/Lawrence. Kinda disappointed by the lack of interaction with Ferris Plaza, but I had low expectations anyway. If any mods are able to combine this thread with the existing one labeled "Site of Jefferson Hotel" please do.

^It sure looks like a cross between the Gables building and One Uptown. This is also slightly smaller than the Gold's Gym parcel, so I'm a little dumbfounded by how that building isn't on the chopping block for the next high-rise.

If it's Park & Rec (City of Dallas) property, doesn't it need to go through council just to even put it on the market?

Re: Victory Park: The Katy (310 FT / 30 ST)
Wow, if Little Mexico were to be developed in to several 10-15 story mixed-income towers that would be huge. Dallas is in desperate need of more centrally located affordable housing. I think you can comfortably fit another Camden Victory and Katy tower inside the Little Mexico footprint and still h...

I work for an Omnicom agency in this building and that article is the first time I've heard that we're threatening to leave if the garage isn't built. I know our employees are spread out over several garages but a lot of us take DART as well. Fortis is probably exaggerating in order to get approval,...

Re: Deep Ellum: Case Building
I noticed The Case all the way from Dealey Plaza today and thought how drastic this change was, but also agree with Tamtagon that The Marquis is the true offender in DE. Actually, there is so much crap in DE now like the storage building on Swiss that Case is really nothing in comparison.

Forgot to mention... I saw last week that the former Ellen's spot in West End had construction workers building a new patio. Anyone know what's goin on here. It's a little behind schedule, but last I checked it was going to be Grezza (Italian) http://dallas.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/03-1...

When the uptown store was closing, an employee there told me that HEB had also purchased the 2 buildings behind the grocery store - the Manny's and Pancake House buildings. John, I think part of the appeal is going to be this mixed-use middle-of-the-city (Elm and Akard) lifestyle that you can't even get in Uptown. Having lived in the Kirby, I can see how people want that gritty urban feel, especially when there's a hotel and retail component attached. Not saying it'll...

The Nazerian development is headed to the CPC today. They'll be discussing the city abandoning a portion of 9th Street and also allowing for a 110 room hotel plus a 15,000 sq ft retail space.

New restaurant building to squeeze into Bishop Arts
A building permit was granted in September for 312 W. Davis, between Calvario and Stock & Barrel restaurant. The permit for a new restaurant, pulled by Benge General Contracting LLC in August, states that the project would have a value of $1.2 million. http://oakcliff.advocatemag.com/wp-content...
