New Central Market at NW Highway/Midway is open. Not as small and claustrophobic as the location at Preston/Royal but it is for sure more compact than Lovers Lane or any in the 'burbs. HEB is known to squat on land just to keep competitors out. When I moved out of College Station they had a vacant grocery store on a main drag that they had no plans to move into at the time, but it forced out an Albertsons. They are in no rush to give up that land/build/open a store.

I didn't say they would. The city just wants something to replaced an outdated strip mall. I wouldn't expect anything more than the bare minimum from a company that operates almost exclusively out of big box strip malls.

I may be overestimating the average sizes of Total Wines but this is a pretty long and narrow lot. Wonder if they could build a long, narrow store with an underground garage. Easy foot traffic access and can still have a large store without compromising parking in a super car-centered area.

I know some buildings will hire a off duty cop to stop traffic from blocking garage exits and let people out. Cityplace Tower does this during PM rush hour, for example.

They must be place holders or something because those rents are atrocious. The parking is in the Centrum parking garage too with no direct access to the building and lacks a lot of amenities that buildings nearby have for the same price/less.

SWA has two employee shuttles that run to each side of headquarters. It is a very popular shuttle since it allows employees to park for free when they travel. lol all because you had an obnoxious cop in JAX doesn't mean it's the same everywhere. Never had a problem at any other airport, even at super aggressive MCI cops or the overcrowded DAL drop off/pick up zones. I'm actually really surprised DFW still let you loiter at an airport entrance.

Southwest may be trying to turn the heat up on Dallas/Delta and adding 15 (!) new daily flights out of Love Field. 195 daily departures. Personally I think the best non-DAL/DFW airport that could successfully do it would be McKinney. With Collin County's huge population boom, there's plenty of room at that airport to build a terminal and start small services, similar to Everett.

I hope Drafthouse can come up with a deal with the parking company to get longer validation. I can't remember the last time I was in and out of a theater in two hours. Why go there when you can go down the street to NW Highway/35 and park for free at Studio Movie Grill?
