The powers that be in Texas, especially in the Governor's office know the impact bills like that cost the state and obviously there are elected officials on both sides of the aisle that also understand the impact. By no stretch of the imagination would this be considered a “grocery store”. More like a convenience store. You would be hard pressed to find enough ingredients of any kind here to even cook half a meal.

This seems more like an inexpensive hotel than a hostel. Backpackers staying in hostels are looking to pay about half that amount or less to share a room with others. This has definitely been dallasized.

I wonder where all that empty acreage is in New York City. I have rarely ever seen an empty space there. Rochester, buffalo, Houston, Tampa, etc....less available space than nyc and Chicago. I have been to all theses cities, this report is highly questionable.

I believe we should subtract the 22 million passengers that DART includes in their numbers that are HOV lane drivers. I am pretty sure Metro is not including those folks in their numbers.

Now if we could just get some moderately priced retail in downtown. The prices at all the retail on Main are way out of reach for the vast majority of regular folks. The growth downtown had been great, but at some point we need to get stuff down there that regular folks can relate to.
