Cinepolis is pricey but where I live most of the year, we almost always see movies at Cinepolis or The Lot (a comparable luxury theater chain) because those places are a really convenient/fun/easy family night out.

If you Google the Crystal Palace, you'll notice that it's much more spread-out and shorter (3ish stories). Who knows if the new owners will want to maintain that style, but one can imagine how a 4 story-tall expansion could make the Infomart appear even more consistent with its historic inspiration....

I want to point out in that rendering above the garage is not completely covered on the Woodall Rogers side. I think the craftsman style is fine. It's not my personal cup of tea but it fits in well with the rest of the neighborhood. I do agree though about the neighborhood association sucking and wish more could have been done with this project.

What matters to Dallas is the tax revenue and the prestige, which seems like a solid investment to me (the city has spent a lot more and received a lot less in return).

I wonder if a portion of their tenants park in the surface lot(s) across the street so this was a move intended to support entirely onsite parking, since what's across the street will eventually become a museum.

^ A very important, impactful lot retirement at that! Behind those four lots at Field and San Jacinto, I've felt like this was the lot that most needed to go and I'm so thankful it finally is.

It fits in so much better with the rest of the neighborhood as well, without the paint. In the photo maconahey posted above, you can see how much more cohesive the Deep Ellum appears.

Thanks, that's the first time I've seen that video. Most of the retail/restaurants in the video appeared to be made-up and fake, but I did see Jamba Juice and Jimmy John's. Does that mean, at the very least, those two will be coming to The Epic? Also, still can't get over how lame 'The Epic' sounds...
