Re: Northpark Center

Having been involved in developments like what you are saying is not as easy as you think. First off, I would imagine they need approval from the department stores which is never an easy task as they all want something for giving their approval. 2nd city approval again not a slam dunk process. 3rd, ...

Re: Northpark Center

My wife heard from papyrus that they are moving to the former Johnston & Murphy space. My guess is Scotch and Soda takes over Papyrus. Makes sense for them to be around apple and the other contemporary brands. From stores I've seen they like small spaces.

Re: Knox / Henderson - Knox Street Side

Eburress - Aside from its charm, local history, relative walkability, uniqueness, and being much closer (and easier) than Northpark, I really can't think of the appeal Local History, Uniqueness? When did on the border, pottery barn, chueys, crate & barrel, Z gallerie, etc become unique lol. It’s...

Re: Knox / Henderson - Knox Street Side

Curious to know why some think Knox is such a cool retail street. Besides Apple, Lululemon, Sur La Table and Stag Provisions and some furniture stores I that’s all there really is. It’s the last place I ever think of shopping plus You won’t catch me walking it during the summer as there’s no shade.

Re: Northpark Center

Saint Laurent is moving next to Ferragamo. Versace is expanding to Ferragamo. I heard it was a printing mistake on the directories.

Re: Northpark Center

Saint Laurent is going next to the new Salvatore Ferragamo and Versace is expanding into Ferragamo. Those rumors are now public. Saint Laurent like so many stores at HPV need foot traffic and tourists to survive which will never be at a small neighborhood center. Those customers do their main shoppi...

Re: Northpark Center

I'm hearing that Scotch & Soda is joining NorthPark this year. With Warby Parker, AG, Shinola, Rodd & Gunn, Zara, Sam Edelman and now Scotch & Soda this is a cool line up near Apple. All good additions.

Also hearing good additions in the luxury area are in the works.

Re: Northpark Center

I am 99.9% sure they choose NorthPark over waiting for a permanent space on Knox because Outdoor Voices will do at least twice the sales and be exposed to way more people from DFW. It's a no brainer...

It's no difference than Apple and Lululemon who do way more at NP over Knox.

Clarins is going in the former Teavana space. They aren’t luxury to be placed between Hublot and Fabiana Filippi. It’s only a temp store too like the other Clarin boutiques they have opened in other top location around the country...

Re: Northpark Center

NorthPark has publicly commented multiple times they would like to add hotels, more restaurants, some office and possibly residential. Like everything NorthPark does, they have a longterm view and they make sure the flow and layout works well with the shopping center all while doing it at a High lev...

Re: Northpark Center

Jasimm - Have you looked at Lik's store locations. They are all high profile busy locations that attract tourists. It's obvious why they choose the busiest luxury shopping center in the metroplex. They want lots of foot traffic and tourists. You don't get that at any of those other locations. Since ...

Re: Northpark Center

Cowboyeagle - avoid the temptation of Neiman and the luxury stores and you will be fine, but there is plenty of cool stores to choose from that won't put you that far in the red. John Varvatos, AG, Lululemon and Nordstrom still get the majority of my wallet. My wife on the other hand loves the store...

Re: Northpark Center

What's the fascination with Uniglo, Top Shop and COS. Uniglo has stated in multiple interviews they are struggling in the US. Top Shop has stated the same too with LA and NY solid markets but the other locations are struggling. COS never has anyone in its location in Houston when I've been at that p...

Re: Northpark Center

Cowboyeagle - you should shop Dallas Galleria as they rarely have any new stores or existing stores that move to new locations. That is one of the reasons why NorthPark is one of the best shopping centers in the US, is they are always bringing in cool unique stores that usually are exclusive to Nort...

Hate to burst your bubble but, WHAT IS THE MUSEUM’S ANNUAL ATTENDANCE? More than 385,000 people visit The Sixth Floor Museum on average every year. Why can't you answer my question. Define visitor - another city, state, country. Shopping is ALWAYS one of the top visitor attractions of any big city. ...

Re: Northpark Center

I love bantering with negative nellies. Define tourist or visitor. How far away makes you a local vs tourist / visitor. My good friend who Has worked at multiple stores at NorthPark said more than 40% of their customers came from a distance of 50 miles or greater. I'd call someone from outside 50 mi...

Re: Northpark Center

This is a great and smart addition. I've read NorthPark is DFW's #1 tourist attraction with something like 23 million visitors. I know my friends who visit Big D who stay in uptown and especially Downtown wish their hotel was next to shopping....why, because women LOVE TO SHOP. Where women go, men f...

Re: Northpark Center

Jasimm - Your missing the point of my response. Both are completely different centers but what you don't seem to realize is small local Luxry centers like HPV with little tourist customers need foot traffic and we can agree to disagree but we shall see over the next 3-5 years how many stores close o...

Re: Northpark Center

i will take NorthPark and some of its flaws over HPVillage all day long. Great shops for my kids and my wife, cool art, great landscaping and A/C when its bouncing hot. Btw, Please name three HPV shores NOT RESTAURANTS you visit more than 3 times per year. NorthPaek has tons of stores I visit monthl...

Re: Northpark Center

Jasimm - curious why you want to see stores like ANTHROPOLOGIE leave HPV when they perform better than half the luxury stores there that I never ever see a single customer in. Btw, There isn't a luxury center in the country that can survive with little to no foot traffic. NONE!!! Mark my words the m...

Re: Northpark Center

I will make this analogy. Willowbend w/ low traffic = low sales with lots of vacancies. NorthPark w/ lots of foot traffic = top performing center in DFW. Barneys NP was empty and as a result shuttered. Neiman's is packed and as a result has their #1 store in their chain. Both examples sold luxury go...

Re: Northpark Center

For those posters complaining about all the shuffling happening too often, I have a suggestion. Shop NorthPark more frequently. EVERY store they have replaced opened with the expansion 10 years ago. I like, no love that NorthPark continues to bring in the coolest stores in every price range. If you ...
